"Molesworth - the ideal Transition Towns community"

For those seeking to live a sustainable lifestyle, or reduce living costs in preparation for peak oil, Molesworth is one of those little gems that has all the groundwork in place. Residents include the old guard, who can remember where the old dairy and piggery are, nestled behind brambles and tall grass, who can remember the sound of horse and cart heading to town every Thursday, who can tell you what once was grown in each little valley. Then there are the tree changers. Those young families who have chosen the area because they want that special lifestyle for their families. Molesworth primary School adjoins Tasmania's Environment Education Center, and places a strong focus on local history and sustainable lifestyles. The school bus service is so good that most kids can stroll to the bus stop in the morning, saving time and petrol.
