Carrum Downs

"Carrum Downs - The good and the bad side"

I first moved to Carrum Downs back in 2002 and am now 21 and still here for the time being. As a child I loved moving here as I felt quite safe after coming from Noble Park. In recent years CD has boomed with lots of new places opening including Kmart, new fruit and vegetable shop, Masters, Gravity Zone, kids play centre and more. I believe it will continue to grow and be booming with more business and job opportunities in the next 5 years.

Unfortunately like every suburb there is a bad side and I am constantly reading every day about burglaries, car thefts, damage done to cars, and dodgy people walking the streets. It's dissapointed me to see this happening to my childhood suburb especially after hearing that our local church was robbed of $12,000 worth of goods. I hope that someday these awful heartless people will leave Carrum Downs as it should be a nice quiet family friendly suburb to raise your children in but you have a LOT of bad people lurking around sadly.

Carrum Downs is great for young families as there is a billion lovely parks and playgrounds to discover for the kids, an abundance of childcare centres, medical centres and dentists.

An arrangement of primary schools including Rowellyn, Banyan Fields, St Joacchims and Skye Primary close by as well!

Another downfall about the town is that there is NO train station and the only two bus routes go to the same location- Frankston. They need to install a bus service that goes to Cranbourne and Seaford and I believe you'll see one in the near future!
Give Carrum Downs a go, but don't be surprised if you fall victim to crime.

Thanks for the information. Is there any safer and more respectful area within CD that you can recommend. I'm a single female looking to buy in that area, safety is my top concern. Thanks.
