"The best travel options are from Salisbury"

Last week I drove to a friend's house warming party who recently bought 9km north of the Brisbane CBD. From the CBD centre to his house via all the traffic lights we had to negotiate, It took 30 minutes to drive. In contrast, I live just east of Orange Grove Road near Tooheys Forest, also 9km south from Brisbane CBD. It took me 10 minutes to jump on the freeway and direct to the CBD. The 30min to 10min drive comparison over the same distance was a sweet reminder why Salisbury is a great suburb to live in. It is not only the convenient and fast travel options (excellent busway, bus stops and rail) but this neighbourhood is a hidden gem. The streets are unbelievably quiet, the neighbours are private yet friendly, there are shopping centres, hospitals, schools and childcare all within a 5 minute drive. Furthermore, we were unaffected by the floods and we are never bothered by any flight noise or heavy freight rail noise. I love living in Salisbury.

Great for

  • Good proximity to busway and bus stops
  • Excellent access to shopping, medical services and schools
  • 10 minutes direct to the CBD (few traffic lights)
  • Quiet
  • Good proximity to city and freeways

Not great for

  • Salisbury Train Station needs refurbishment

Who lives here?
