Concord

"Of all the places in Sydney"

I stumbled across Concord quite by accident. I cannot believe how the residents of this fine neighbourhood have kept this Sydney's best kept secret.
Firstly it is conveniently located from the City. Being just far enough that you are away from the hustle and bustle but close enough that it doesn't take long to get in. There numerous transport options, there is rail from North Strathfield and if you wish even ferry from Cabarita Wharf. The train only takes 30 minutes to the city. Secondly this suburb is beautiful especially some of the tree lined streets near Concord Golf Course. The roads are wide and houses a mix of modern and traditional Californian bungalows.
The main commercial street is Majors Bay road which has a wonderful village atmosphere, lots of cafe type restaurants and coffee shops. Perfect for meal and a stroll. This has to be one of the best commercial precincts in Sydney.
Thirdly there is perfect access to major shopping precincts such as Rhodes, Burwood, Strathfield and even Top Ryde is within easy distance. There is no shortage of access and availability to shopping centres and retail options. Additionally there is local Coles and Woolworths which are perfectly sized for convenience shopping.
Fourthly, the access to the recreational activities is immense. There are cycle paths, and parks galore. They don't call this the green suburb for nothing. It has one of the most green spaces of any suburb. Especially considering it is so close to the city. Also it has two golf courses, of which one is the prestigious Concord Golf Course which is one of the oldest in Sydney.
Fifthly, it is so close to some of the best schools in Sydney. Many private and public options makes this perfect for families.
Sixthly it is close to the Olympic Park and all the recreational facilities that are on offer, right on your doorstep.
Finally, there West Connex will be developed which will hopefully provide direct road access to the city and airport. Currently however Concord has perfect access to nearly all parts of Sydney, north, south and west. The only part that needs to improve is access to the east. With West Connex job done!
Cannot believe how perfect a suburb could be. If you can afford it, it is truly a worthwhile investment.
Now my only wish is that I can save enough to put down that deposit. I have been renting for two years and would love to get a foothold in this gem of a suburb.
