Cedar Grove

"Peaceful and Private"

Woodhill is an older suburb and was primarily used to graze cattle. Many of the larger acreages are now being subdivided into 1-5 acres lots to provide a pleasant lifestyle and peaceful surroundings for newcomers to enjoy.

My homestead is the original on a 54 acre property that was subdivided into the Summerhills Estate so my lovely home (situated on the best and highest point of the estate) overlooks Mount Flinders and my neighbours!! My access is via Old Bluff Rd (now re-named Caswell Rd) which is a graded dirt road lined by large gums on both sides. I utilise this as my running track and I get to see the lovely acreage properties still left intact and untouched by developers. These are the positives of Woodhill.

The people in the Estate are friendly and helpful and make an effort to have get-togethers from time to time. There are so far, very few trail riders, noisy dogs and inconsiderate people; most have adopted the country attitude of helping one another and being friendly. Most of the newcomers have moved in from other suburban areas such as Shailer Park, Rochedale, and Browns Plains, to name a few.

On a negative note, internet and telecommunication services are very poor and consumers are forced to wait months for a resolution with a predictable outcome; there is no service. You must own a car as public transport is limited. The shops are limited at this point in time so Jimboomba or Beaudesert are closest services. Other than larger retailers, some take-away services, medical practices and the odd service station, not much opens on weekends so be prepared to travel for entertainment and leisure.

Overall, Woodhill is a lovely suburb to live in if you enjoy the countryside and privacy.
