Saratoga

"Great location for families looking for a safe place to bring up kids and access to water"

Great location for people who love boating, fishing or kayaking. For a waterside suburb it's fairly quiet with the added advantage of only one road in, so it's not a thoroughfare. The locals tell me the public school is good and for high school students, Green Point Christian College is very close, also a number of public high schools within easy reach. Saratoga has the feel of an island, as Brisbane Waters surrounds a large part of the suburb. Close proximity to ocean beaches like Avoca, Copacabana or MacMaster's and enough public jettys maket Saratoga an ideal location for myself and my teenage kids. There is a small but useful shopping village with Erina Fair Mall a short drive - but a whole world away. The Central Coast took some getting used to for me but I've lived here for 10 years and this is my second home. I liked my old house much more than the new one but moving to Saratoga has made it well worthwhile. I'm not an aspirational person but people on the Central Coast seem to look very favourably on this suburb (unlike where I used to live). For commuters, it's not too hard to get to the freeway in the mornings and there is the option of a great ferry service over to Woy Woy where you can take a short walk to the train station. Like any suburb, you can get neighbours who stay up too late and are noisy but generally most people are quiet and even considerate. I like kayaking and Brisbane Waters is excellent for that. I can wheel my boat down to the water in a few minutes without ever having to use the car. From there you can explore a number of pretty spots, or for sea kayakers head for the rip bridge and out to Broken Bay, Lion Island and then across to Pittwater.
