A beautiful semi-rural/residential suburb approx 25 mins from Canberra and 20 mins from Queanbeyan. Well serviced by buses for all schools in the Canberra/Queanbeyan region, Wamboin has it all. A lively community association hosts a number of local events throughout the year, including the famous annual Bonfire and Fireworks show and the Car Boot Sale!! Wamboin enjoys a coastal climate with beautiful easterly breezes on those hot summer evenings; often it snows in winter and there is an abundance of wild-life to enjoy. It is not unusual to see echidnas, wombats, wallabies, kangaroos and a huge array of birds in the area. Wedge-tail eagle sigtings are common.
