Vincent Street

"Peace & Quiet to hear the waves"

Beautifully positioned street,1.2km from the front beach, extends only three blocks to the West from Truemans Road to Keith St so is predominantly accessed by residents only with the occasional hoon. Houses in this street are generally well maintained, some holiday homes gardens are untidy and a couple of blocks are overgrown with tea tree. Walking distance to the beautiful Tootgarook foreshore, irregularly maintained by Capel Sound foreshore committee and not to the same standard as where they have their Rangers hut in West Rosebud. Guest Street milkbar is in the street behind Vincent, well stocked with fresh produce including cakes & last minute items. No supermarkets in Tootgarook but Rye & Rosebud share Coles, Woolworths & Aldi. A recent addition is a chemist at the corner of Carmichael St & Point Nepean Rd, and a planned freeway extension beyond Boneo Rd will add huge value to this little town on the peninsula which extends for only 3km along Pt Nepean Rd. Local Saturday markets held at Rye, Rosebud, Boneo & Tootgarook are well attended. Tootgarook, like other tiny towns surrounded by their larger more popular neighbouring towns, is the pearl inside the Oyster.

Albert Street

"Everthing you need at your door step"

Walking distance to shopping centre (supermarket, speciality shops including newsagency, pharmacy & post office), restaurants, Royal Hotel, take away food outlets, UFTG Railway station, Bus Depot (bus travels direct to Box Hill via Knox & Vermont). The local ametaur theatre company has regular good shows, and quality shows regularly appear at the nearby FTG Hotel (The Middle). Quiet street with most hospital traffic using Talaskia St. Views across the blue Dandenongs ranges are breathtaking, once here you won't want to leave. Perfect location if you don't have a car or can't be bothered taking it out. FTG National park is a 5 minute walk away, the 1000 steps Kakoda Trail is the best free exercise regime in the east of Melbourne.
