Browns Plains

"Close to Everything!!"

I have been living in Browns Plains for 7 years. Since then with the addition of Village Square and the Browns Plains Tavern being refurbished I think this suburb represents great value. There are many eating options, Coffee Club, Montezuma, Outback Jacks just to mention a few and the Tavern does a great feed! Access to the Motorways is very easy and I can be in Brisbane CBD in 30 minutes and the Gold Coast 40 minutes. Its not just eating options and motorways that are close to hand but almost any shop you can think of apart from your David Jones and Myers. If you need plumbing supplies there is one around the corner, music store or lessons just around the corner, fitness centre also just around the corner. With Bunnings, Good Guys, JB HI Fi and Harvey Norman also at Village square it doesn't get much easier than that. The list goes on and on. I regularly need to get to the airport and I can reach the airport in 25 minutes and returning from the airport due to the pocket of Browns Plains I am in I do not even have to go through one set of traffic lights. With housing pricing starting at the bottom end around the 300,000 mark and you can get into something decent with a pool on a 1012 Sqm block for around 400K I think the value is outstanding and its a hidden gem. Prices have been relatively flat for years now but I expect that to change and developers are now starting to move in and build newer houses on the older blocks with some subdividing. I have been thinking of moving for a while now to a newer property but I just can't find somewhere that represents the same value with all the amenities at hand. I have to try and find some down sides here so I would say I do hear the Hoons screaming around in their cars at night, I am not sure if that is just a Browns Plains thing or if it is more common in other areas too. Also the traffic on Browns Plains Road can be a bit busy on the weekends. Also with the traffic turning onto Beaudesert road to head into the city in peak hour it can be very slow too. Even though the travel time to the airport is quick the distance makes it around $100.00 taxi fare these days which is pretty steep. I have never caught a bus so I can't comment on that but the loganlea train station is about $25.00 in a Taxi and it would be nice for that to be a bit closer. Apart from that I would highly recommend the area for those looking in the price range, maybe you would have enough left over to put in a pool, throw in a new kitchen and bathroom and have enough money to still enjoy going out and dining. With the crime I can say in the 7 years I have been there I have had no break ins or really any trouble at all. Once there was a window broken on a car at night, although I have had that happen in high end suburbs too near the city.

Browns Plains

"Everything close at hand."

After having lived in Browns Plains for about 3 years now i can say this area is great for having everything you need around the corner. The new village square is great with fantastic restaraunts and good shopping. Next door to that is Grand Plaza shopping centre with every else you could need. There is a commercial district with every type of business you could imagine nearby.

The greenbank RSL (one of the best RSL's i have been too) and is also just down the road. Throw in to that easy access to both the Gateway motorway and Logan motorway i think Browns Plains is a hidden gem and represents great value for money.
