Florey Place

"Inner west haven with a housing commission past"

The area was once all housing commission but has gone through a number of poorly executed revivals which now make the area a mish mash of styles and poor taste. . Yes it is close to Sydney CBD but it will take you quite a while to commute if thats your plan. The homes are mostly old double brick housing commission with a mix of knock downs and bagged revivals. the land areas are large in some cases.
If your looking for expensive inner west living on a congested peninsula this is the place for you

Barclay Road

"A busy through road between major urban areas"

Known in part as the big dipper, Barclay road has poor reputation as a traffic corridor and accident hot spot. The Baulkham Hills end of the road is mostly populated with ex War Service homes perched on steep blocks on one side or in depressions below street level on the other. Towards the eastern end of the road are many privately built homes looking towards the Muirfield Golf Course. The area is disected by the M2 which passes directly behind the homes on alternate side of the road. Recent parking overflows from the nearby bus interchange has caused problems for resident trying to get out of their driveways. Schools are handy with both Muirfield high and North Rocks Primary only 10 minutes up the road. The area is bushy and green and there are bush tracks nearby for those willing to trek down the hill. A major shopping centre is nearby and buses pass along the road at reasonable frequency. Overall this is a reasonable place to live if you can put up with the traffic problems

Amphitheatre Circuit

"Family Oriented street with big yards and neat streetscapes"

Amphitheatre Circuit is an old exhibition village area of some 20 years ago. In its day it was revolutionary in its application of almost total solar hotwater systems. The blocks are big with most being over 800 sqm. The homes are mostly well constructed project homes but a number of architect homes are also to be found here. The street is wide and leads to and from the well respected public school,Mathew Pearce Primary. Neighbours are friendly and street parties at Christmas are common. Whilst there is a slight domitory effect present during the week, weekends are usually busy with people of varied ages moving around the street and tended well kept gardens. The street is going through a slight changing of the guard with many young families finding the appeal of an established home, big block close to amenities compellingly in favour of the older home than the McMansion packages at nearby newer estates. House prices whilst suffering in recent times like a lot of areas has nonethe less remained positive. It has been said by some that area has not yet been fully discovered due to the lure of nearby new homes and land packages. This looks its changing given the speed at which homes sell once put on the market. Good place to raise the family and enjoy this green established area in the beautiful Hills District of Sydney
