Bedford

"Great great suburb"

Having been a commited renter around subi, mt lawley, inglewood, leederville, northbridge etc.. areas for all of my 20s I moved to Bedford 10 years ago and have to say, it was so worth saving to get into the suburb. As far as location you cant beat it, its close enough to get everywhere and far enough to be peaceful. There are great access routes in every direction, great schools - both public and private, walking distance to galleria and inglewood strip. I guess one of the highlights is the proximity to the city and the public transport options. It takes 15-20 minutes door to door to get to town on the 66 express. It is in essence Inglewood without the million+ pricetags and the pokey block sizes ;-). I think its potential has yet to be fully realised.. although with the recent spate of investment and popping up of fancy 'McMansion' type developments on our street.. I think the secret is slowly getting out..

As my neighbour has been saying for the last 10 years.. "once you are in, why would you leave? its just so easy and convenient living in Bedford..and you will never be able to buy back in"

The other big pro of Bedford is there is a plethera of housing styles to suit everyone.. old doer uppers, new houses and those which have been beautifully restored.. and finally established trees.. something you just dont see in the suburban sprawl. Love it!

Oh and I almost forgot.. it has "Salisbury day care centre".. possibly the best day care centre for miles and miles... ask anyone whos kids go there and anyone whos trying to get in!!
