Jacklin Road
"Link to history."
Jacklin Street was named for the original landholder at its end, Joseph Jacklin.
Joseph Jacklin was the son of William Jacklin, a convict, who was one of the original settlers of the Ebenezer area and a co-founder of the Ebenezer Church.
William's first farming property was granted by Governor Hunter and was the furthest outpost of settlement at that time, he later added grants on the other side of the Hawkesbury opposite to this street.
Apart from the property that gave its name to this street Joseph Jacklin was granted land at Little Cattai Creek and his brother John was granted the land that now houses the golf resort on the Maroota side of the river.
