Stafford Heights

"A changing suburb"

Stafford Heights is a quiet leafy suburb about 10 -15 minutes drive to the CBD. It is an older suburb with many older people living there. But the suburb is changing with new cafe's opening up including Cafe Urbano on Wilgaring street.

Currently the older post war homes are being renovated by new younger owners and new families are moving to the area. It is still a cheaper suburb to buy compared to surrounding suburbs but has the same amenities. Also you have Stafford shopping center within a 2 minute car ride or Chermside shopping centre only 5 minutes drive away.

It's the suburb that’s not too close, and also no too far.

Hi there if anyone knows about the schools in the area for primary and High schools could you please let me know. Thank you

Snats

You may have already found out, but there are several schools in and around Stafford Heights. For your primary schools you have Stafford Heights State School, Stafford State School, Somerset Hills State School, Craigslea State School, Kedron State School, Queen of Apostles School (Catholic I think) and there is also a Christian College that I believe does Prep to Yr 12- not sure on that one though.

For High Schools you may have to travel a little, but the kids in the area generally go to one of the following- Wavell Heights State High School, Craigslea State High School, Kedron State High School, Everton Park State High School, Hillbrook (private Agnlican co-ed) or Padua (private boys).

Good luck!

Southport

"Leave the car at home."

I lived in Lloyd street in Southport for three years. I worked in the hospital, ate out at all the great cafe's and resturants in the area, used the parks and wind surfed nearby in the broadwater.

Didnt take my car anywhere, and that was a real draw card to the suburb. I havnt found any other place like it since. There is also lots of new development in the area with new parks and lifestyle areas + the proposed RAPID Transit rail systm to link up Southport and Surfers Paradise will be a real bonus to residents living there now.

"Good place to call home"

I work in the city, it takes me 5 mins in peak hour to get to work. Before i was living in an outer suburb of brisbane and the journey would take me almost an hour in peak hour. I am saving over 8 hours a week in time and lots of money on fuel and car costs. Where i live in Rosemount Tce is a quiet street, 1 minute walk to the train or bus stops and coffee shop.

It is more expencive to live than say lutwych, but you pay for convienience and a better lifestyle.

Hi ! I'm looking to buy a unit on Rosemount Terrace. What is the noise like there as I know it's close to the main road, some of the furniture stores and also the train. Thanks.
