Cutcliffe Avenue

"Oasis in regents park and surrounding areas"

I've been living here for 16 years now. It's probably amongst the nicest streets in regents park though neighbours don't tend to talk to each other. Quite often I leave my car doors unlocked over night and it definitely feels safe enough to leave your house door unlocked. It's peace and quite in the sense that you don't get trouble makers or anyone like that coming into the street, but it's not quiet if you live too close to the main road just off the street. Downside: 20 min from nearest train station, there's a train line parallel to the street. Upside: if you drive you'll have no problem getting around sydney. Takes around 45min to get to most places in sydney. 5min to Lidcombe the nearest major train station). 5min to Bankstown the nearest shopping centre. Typically 45min (door to door) in the morning to get to work at St Leonards (north sydney). There's a local basketball court and a football field near the library, train station, schools, postoffice, shops etc. There's also a very big golf course just on the other side of the train line. Local High Schools: Christian Community (very good) and Trinity Catholic (not sure). I would not recommend sending your kids to nearby public high schools like Birrong Boys/Girls. I've heard plenty of bad stories from the kids. I like my street but I was quite shocked when i visited town centre once, very dirty with chewing gum all over the pavement. The nearest eatout is at lidcombe and you get very good vietnamese, japanese, korean, bistro at dooleys (club). There used to be a nice italian place as well but they sold the place and is now a thai restaurant (no good).
