"Quiet and Safe"

Very nice street, neighbours were really friendly never an issue at all. Many large houses with pools, most with families in them.

Transport is pretty terrible, but the street is so close to the bus stop on gilbert road so that at least gets you to Castle Hill.

"Townhouse Community"

This street is made of mainly a line of townhouses, its a very quiet street and the townhouses are really good sizes. Large amount of off street parking.

Street is very close to Kingswood High, you can hear all the school bells. Its also a short walk through the reserve to the Uni, and the train station is another short walk as well.

Although having reservations about how safe this area was, never had any problems at all.

Carlingford

"Hidden Good Spots, but generally an average suburb."

Transport for this suburb is terrible, its on its own train line that you need to change at Clyde most of the time, and they only run about every hour.

Some of this suburb is really nice, with well established areas that have really nice and big houses, but then other parts is townhouses and apartments. A large amount of the residents are from Asian backgrounds..

Main road to get from the west to north goes through the middle of this suburb, however in some places they have small roads that run off it to be able to stop off at apartments.

Two shopping centres next door to each other, one Carlingford Village is a Asian based shopping centre, however hosts one of the cheapest computer shops in the Sydney CCPU Computers. Carlingford Court is a reasonable size shopping centre, hosts Target and Myers.

Carlingford Court no longer has Myer. It's a smallish shopping centre, certainly not of Westfield standard.

Actually I went there the other week, and noticed that there wasnt a Myer anymore, I was quite dissappointed to what the shopping centre was like compared to what it use to be like.

However, Target have now taken over where Myer use to be, and I think it was Priceline and another store has gone where Target use to be.

"This is great street within easy walk to sutherland station"

It is quiet and people are neighbourly but it has one huge drawback.

Train parkers park up the whole area and unless you are on your own land you cannot park here during the week.

"McMansionville"

The houses in this area use up almost as much as possible for the square on the house, and leave almost no room for backyards and there is not much room between the houses either. Inside the houses though, they are huge, plenty of room for whatever you might need.

The shopping centre is small but adequate, has good take aways, coles or woolworths and not to far from Castle Towers.

A lot of young families live in the area, you can get a nice place with room in the house for a reasonable price. But the transport to anywhere is shocking, unless you drive. If you work in Norwest Business Park though you are laughing.

"Good place to grow up"

I lived here while quite young, the transport to school was good plus had quite a number of kids same age to hang around with. Also we were near to Tuggeranong Business Area, so plenty of access to shops. Lake Tuggeranong and Pine Island was great place to have fun on a weekend.

Castle St

"Close to Castle Towers"

There are a number of townhouse/house communities on Castle St. 5 min walk to Castle Towers, a great shopping centre, with the piazza for a good restaurant meal. It is also close to Castle Hill RSL Club, which is a great place to have a nice drink on a friday night, but even better the RSL hosts one of the best gym's i've been a member of C2K, which has a great pool and good facilities.

The townhouse complex, I was in was great, it had 80 or so townhouses, and shared a pool and tennis court, but was also a very quiet area though.

"University Suburb!"

This Suburb has many houses that house UWS students, whether through the Uni's accomodation or whether share houses, so the students are in close to the uni.

The shops near the train station are functional, and have everything you might want, take away shop, convience shops, bottle shop, hair dresser.

Locate very close to Penrith, so access to all those shops. Train runs every 30mins from Kingswood to Parramatta or the City.

Ah, UWS student accommodation, where you have the privilege of paying $170+ for a tiny bedroom with a single bed, sharing a single bathroom and kitchen with four other people. Parramatta UWS is even more of a rort than Penrith for that, though.

"Just out of the CBD, but close enough to the action"

Plenty of Thai, Sushi and Italian restaurant - some the best in Sydney. Also, Churrasco Brazilian BBQ has great food the best feed I have ever had.

A number of Gyms nearby, and parks - very close to the domain.

I'm not sure this would be my choice to live in, I like space - but if you want to be part of all the action then its great.

"Holiday Suburb, Great to get away and relax."

Near everything you could want for a quiet weekend or even a few weeks away. Set between the ocean with a quiet beach great to play a game of beach cricket, and the lake which you can take out boats, and the national parks for 4wding or Bushwalking.

Short trip into Sussex Inlet for a meal at the Club or shopping at Inasmuch Op-Shop (always with great buys), or the Ocean & Earth Factory Outlet near by as well.

This is a great place for a relaxation holiday, or to retire to (except for the distance to medical facilities)

"Nice quiet street for families."

Quiet cul-de-sac, houses are medium sizes great for families. Short walk to corner shop with fish and chip shop, conveinence shop, pharmacy & medical centre (or at least it use to). Very close to the local scout group.Very close to day walks, that connect onto the great north walk.

Good High School only 15/20min walk away, and public school nearby. Reasonable size shopping centre with Woolworths and other shops, and Castle Towers only 15mnin drive away.

Great local sporting clubs, which have really good grounds. I can't say a bad thing about this area.

"Reasonable Place to Live, Great Transport."

Rents in the area are reasonable, lots of apartment buildings, however some nice leafy hidden areas with nice houses.

Great Leisure Centre with pool, gym and massage therapy, probably more but I didn’t use it. Largest Soccer Association in the Southern Hemisphere, with North Sutherland Rockets based in Sutherland (there might be a few others, but I'm not sure).

A good feed in a walkable distance is a bit hard to find, except for The Royal Hotel - great bistro there, and during the day the best sushi place in Sydney Sushi Yummy.

Train Station is great, longest wait for a train to the City is about 10-15mins and that is on a Saturday Night, Peak Hour trains come every 5mins.

Smith Street

"Close to everything!!!"

This street is brilliant, close to anything you might want. Depending which end of the street you are at changes how close to the beach or the main shopping area in Wollongong, but neither is more than a 5-10minute walk away. As this street is not a main throughfare into the city there isnt a huge amount of traffic, the only issue is street parking which is generally used up by all the city workers/shoppers.

You have two clubs for a good cheap feed just minutes walk away. If you like a night out on the town you have about 10 or so drinking venues in close walking distance. Plus if you like shopping, all of Wollongong's Shopping is a few minutes walk.

Transport you are about 10-15mins walk from both Wollongong & North Wollongong Train Stations.

"Very Pleasant and Quiet Street"

The street is very quiet, and only local traffic due to dead end. Neighbours come from quite a number of different cultures, they are helpful and friendly, however generally keep to themselves. Great street for kids to play games on the street without any worry of danger due to traffic. Plenty of on street parking. Train station is an easy 10min walk (if you walk slow), and there is a great Woolworths in Granville just short drive away.

Helpful and friendly is not mutually exclusive with keeping to oneself. What parent in their right mind would allow any child to play on any street in Guildford? Also, 10 minute walk to the station??? Yeah, from one end of this very long street. Why go to Woolworths in Granville when there are three supermarkets within walking distance???? Yep, you work in real estate. Easy money posting on this site, is it?
