Port Augusta

"Money spinner"

Two sides to Port Augusta. It isn't know for its beauty or 5 Star lifestyle but you can make a pretty penny here if you are a good saver with plenty of job opportunities and government investments. HOWEVER there are social problems in this town and in reality not the best environment to bring up a family. Port Augusta can be a bogan almost feral type of town at times, probably most of the time in my opinion.

Your candid honesty is appreciated, but time changes a place, and the community spirit is returning. Many families are now calling this forward-thinking town home......like me!

Whyalla

"A struggling town"

Whyalla in the 1960, 70, 80 and 90's was a working class town with great potential. In recent years has changed almost into a Centrelink Mecca with unemployed ferals everywhere, it really has declined as a community. Job uncertainty and a massive decline in house prices has taken its toll. Definately not a safe place to invest or raise a young family. Having said that not many outback towns are these days.
