Marcus Street

"Peaceful Street on the River"

Marcus Street is the only street in Surat on the river. It has an amazing little park with great gardens and lawns. It is extremely close to everything in Surat including hotels, shops and the museum.

There are several spots perfect for fishing as well as a caravan park. It is close to the highway but does not have any noise problems from it.

Leith Crescent

"Peaceful Street full of new homes"

A short street of new homes backing onto vacant bushland, which belongs to the Symes Thorpe home for the aged. Leith Crescent is a very quiet and peaceful street without any traffic or noise issues.

It has the Hancock Street Park at one end, and is close to the Middle Ridge Golf Course.

Boundary Rd

"Acerage Blocks outside Toowoomba"

Presont Boundary Road is made up of acerage blocks of land on the Southern edge of Toowoomba. Many of the houses along it have amazing valley views, and are surrounded by bushland.

It joins onto the New England Highway, so it only takes 15 minutes to get into the city.

"Short Street Near Park"

Hawthorn Street is a short street bordering the Toowoomba Sports Ground and is extremely close to Queens Park with some unit development. It is within walking distance of the East State Primary School.

It is also very close to the Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE and the Cobb and Co Museum.

Hoey Street

"Residential Street close to shopping centre"

Residential street with a major shopping centre at one end. Relatively quiet, because the entrance to the shopping centre is from another street, so there is little traffic.

Close to the Toowoomba City Golf Course. The homes are of the 1980 era and are perfect for families.

Pratten Street

"Residential Street off the Warrego Highway"

Pratten Street is a fairly long street through Dalby which intersects the Warrego Highway, however it doesn't have any of the noise or traffic issues normally associated with that.

At one point it borders the Dalby Park which is great for small children. It is also very close to a butcher, a kfc, services stations, and various other shopping outlets.

Drayton Street

"Constant Trucks day and night"

Drayton street is the main street through the centre of Dalby. It is simply the Warrego Highway when it is inside the town. This means that there is always a lot of traffic and noise.

There are a lot of shops along it as well as several service stations. There are several small houses, but I would not recommend Drayton street for residential use.

Macquarie Street

"River Frontage for Students"

MacQuarie Street borders the Brisbane River on one side and the University of Queensland on the other. It is perfect for uni students who are looking for an amazing view or are boating enthusiasts.

Most of the houses are apartments or units, so they are designed for students, and the traffic is quite light, so there arn't any noise issues.

Morley Street

"Plenty of shops in a peaceful street"

Although Morley Street may look like it would have a lot of drive through traffic and noise pollution because it joins on to Milton Road, it is actually a quiet and peaceful street. There are two small shopping complexs, with a corners store and pizza stores, where you can pick up the daily groceries.

Also, because it joins Milton Road, it does not take very long to get anywhere. The river is within walking distance if you are keen, as is Telstra Stadium.

Harvey Road

"Big Homes on Large Blocks"

This street runs beside the Toowoomba Showgrounds and is very busy with traffic at certain times of the year. The blocks and houses are large but it is near a large quarry.

Harvey Road is a fair way out of Toowoomba, and takes a while to get into the CBD or other areas.

I live very near to Harvey Road and, yes, while there are busy times they are about three times a year and only last for two or three days at the most. As for the quarry, I completely forget it's there, never have I heard anything. If by "a while" you mean 10 - 15 minute drive (depending on traffic), then sure, it takes a while to get to the CBD. The second most popular shopping centre in Toowoomba (Clifford Gardens) is only about a seven minute drive from Harvey Road.

As for "fair way out of Toowoomba" actually, it is part of Toowoomba. Living that near to the showground also has it's perks, as during the easter show free tickets are given to those who live around the showgrounds area. The only complaint I would have about living near the showgrounds is the noise when there are moterbike ralleys. These happen about once a year and only last for a few days, certainly not a reason to live here though

Norwood Street

"Quiet Street close to Primary School"

Part of the Mort Estate, which has heritage listing regulations for building and renovations, which means it has some of the oldest houses in Toowoomba. Close to the Holy Name Primary School, but is a quiet street without much traffic noise.

Most houses are fairly small and many have been workers cottages.

"Major Street through Toowoomba"

A street that traverses Toowoomba from East to West, and includes residential areas as well as several schools and a major hospital.
This is a busy street, especially through the Western section which can create a bit of a noise issue, but it does not take long to get into the city.

Sir Fred Schonell Drive

"Major Street Between UQ and Toowong"

Sir Fred Schonell Drive is one of the main streets between the University of Queensland and Toowong as well as being a main route to Indooroopilly. It is perfect for students as it has a lot of apartment buildings and units.

The traffic can be a bit noisy but most of the houses are set back in their blocks so it shouldn't be a problem. There is a lot of public transport, however the university is well within walking distance.

Albion Overpass

"Extremely Busy Road"

The Albion Overpass is an extremely busy road connecting Sandgate Road to Roblane Street. There is a lot of drive through traffic from the Inner City Bypass which can get very noisy at times, especially at peak hour.

There are several small shops in Albion as well as the Albion Train Station, so the public transport is quite good, but I would not recommend it based on the traffic levels alone.

Bent Street

"Quiet Inner Suburban Brisbane"

Bent St is a street in the back end of Toowong. It seems closer to Taringa than Toowong proper. However, it's out of the way location means that it is very quiet and peaceful.

While probably not the best location for students, due to the lack of public transport in the area, for workers and families the location is great. It is quiet, and close to schools.

Shops are a bit of a distance, with a couple of small local stores around but no major centre close by, this is the same for nightlife and entertainment. But these are the prices you pay for a quiet road in central Brisbane

Edna Street

"Short Street in the heart of Dalby"

Edna street only has about 20 houses, so all the residents know each other quite well. It is not near any major roads, so the traffic is a minimal, however you can still walk to the centre of town in no time at all.

The houses are about 25 years old, but are all in good condition. A great place for retirees!

Leichhardt Avenue

"Quiet and Peaceful Street in a Small Country Town"

Because Dalby is such a small country town, you can get anywhere within minutes, even from the outer areas. Leichhardt Avenue is a small peaceful street, with a great family friendy vibe.

It is on the northern side of the railway track, so it doesn't get a lot of the normal Dalby traffic or even the drive through noise.

It is a part of the Pioneer Gardens Estate, and has some great houses, which are only about 10 years old.
