Freyling Court

"Small Community Driven Street on the outskirts of town"

Freyling Court is a very small street, but because of that it has a great community feeling. There can be a noise issue from the New England Highway, but it is very close to Fern Drive Park and Kearneys Spring Park, which is great for kids. There is also a golf driving range nearby.

Although it is a little distance to schools and shopping centres, the houses are really classy and the gardens are awesome.

College Road

"The Perfect University Student Location"

College Road is literally across the road from the University of Queensland. It is the perfect location for any students, and has most of the university college's on campus along it. If anyone is considering living on campus, then College Road is the best location.

Public transport is really good at Chancellor's Place as well as health care and shopping within the university. It is a very community driven street, where everyone knows everyone else.

Hill Street

"Close to Schools and the CBD"

Hill street is extremely close to the central business district so shopping or work is within walking distance. It also borders St Mary's College, so if you have kids then it is really close.

The noise can sometimes be a problem due to West Street and Margaret Street. Laurel Bank Park is along Hill street, which is a great place for picnics or kids to play.

Starkey Court

"Walking Distance to Picnic Point"

Apart from its community atmosphere, the main feature of Starkey Court is its proximity to Picnic Point - perfect for weekends, afternoons and special occasions. Picnic Point has a great restaurant and an even better view.

Rangeville State Primary School is really close, and is perfect for anyone with kids. It may take a bit longer to get into the city than other streets, but it is a really good looking street with heaps of gardens and is close to Heller Street Park.

I lived here for a few months whilst on holiday visiting my granddaughter and her two girls. Starkey court is not at all a friendly street to live in. A lot of gossip by the stay one particular stay at home mother and her friend who have nothing better to do that create trouble and strife in the street. A very emotionally cold place to live in; yes it is close to picnic point but as for neighbourly friendly street it gets a minus one out of 10 from me. one of my granddaughters went to play with a little girl in the street who lived at the front end of the street. Her mother was so very rude shouting her off the property and screaming at her. Her husband is a psychologist so I found that very interesting as her behaviour warranted that she needed psychological help. Do not live in Starkey Court as there are much better places to live which are child friendly and elderly person friendly.

Leslie Street

"Expensive Street full of Mansions"

Leslie street borders the range, and contains some of the nicest, and biggest houses in Toowoomba. Leslie Park huge and contains heaps of play equipment for kids as well as sporting fields. Duggan Bushland is around the end of the street and has plenty of walking and bike tracks.

The view over the range is awesome, especially of Tabletop Mountain. It only takes a few minutes to get to the CBD and is close to some really great schools and shopping centres.

Upland Road

"100 Metres to the University of Queensland"

Upland Road is incredibly close to the University of Queensland and is perfect for any students. The public transport is really close so you can get to Toowong or the City reasonably quickly.

The noise can be quite high due to the large population of students, but this is a bonus if you are a student as well. The Hawken Village Shopping Centre is only just around the road, so you can get everything you need without needing a car.

Clayton Lane

"Small Street off Busy Roads"

Clayton Lane is a small stree off Woodstock Rd in Toowong. It's mainly used as an entrance to a number of apartment complexes on Maryvale St and Sherwood Rd. However, there are a number of houses along the small street.

As it's near the busy Sherwood Rd, you'd expect it to be noisy due to traffic. However, the street is remarkably quiet.

Parking is an issue as the street isn't wide enough for on street parking, so if you have more cars then parks you'll have to park on a nearby street.

Other than the issue with parking a great quiet street near central Toowong

Ellis Street

"Great Street Close to the City and Large Parks"

Ellis Street is off Taylor Street and is only a short distance away from the Warrego Highway, so you can get anywhere in Toowoomba within minutes. It is also within walking distance of Captain Cook Park, which is great for kids and families. It is in a really great location and has a shopping centre across the road as well as being close to the Racecourse and the Airport.

Towards the Taylor Street end the traffic noise can be quite high, but it is very quiet at the other end of the street.

Saint Osyth Street

"Small Suburban Street"

St Osyth St is a small street at the Milton Rd end of Sylvan Rd. It's located close to the city, and public transport as well as near the major ways into the City in Milton and Coronation Dr. The street also has easy access onto the Western Freeway.

Like all Toowong Streets, it;s ideally located for University of Queensland students, and also close to a number of primary and secondary schools for students of all ages.

St Osyth St is a leafy green area, while this looks great it does mean a number of possums and scrub turkeys also call the local gardens home.

All in all a great street for both families and students.

Sherwood Road

"Busy street in a central location"

Sherwood Rd runs from the Toowong Village shopping centre up into more suburban Toowong. This means that while the lower (river) end is quite busy and loud, the upper end is quite quiet.

It's very close to shops, restaurants, and public transport and is centrally located to primary, secondary schools and the University of Queensland.

This means it is perfect for younger couples and singles, but it's busier areas are probably not the best for families or retirees.

Payne Street

"Quiet Inner City Suberban Street"

Payne St is an out of the way quiet street that is still close enough to shopping centres to be in a central location.

It isn't particularly close to public transport which can be an issue for students, or people without cars. However, it is close to schools and shops making it perfect for families or couples.

While shopping and eating out is great in the Indooroopilly area, the local nightlife is a bit lacking, with the two local hotels quite quiet and out of the way.

Jephson Street

"Great Location, Noise an Issue."

Jephson St is a very central location in Toowong. It has close access to the University as well as the City. A number of schools, restaurants, pubs and shopping areas. The Toowong Village shopping centre is very close, as is the RE Hotel and Regatta Hotel.

There are easy walking distance trains, buses and City Cats.

However, this street is a major thouroughfare for traffic to and from Moggil Rd and the University. This means that traffic noise can be an issue at peak times.

Kruger Street

"Close to Schools, Shops, and bordering a Park"

Kruger Street is a perfect for a young family with the desire for a peaceful street that has everything.

It is within walking distance of Rangeville State School, and the High Street Shopping Complex. As your kids grow older, the Centenary Heights State High School is just up the road. Along with a huge park with a great playground, Kruger Street has everything that you need.

Away from the noise of South Street, it is quiet and peaceful, and has a great community vibe about it. Picnic Point is only 5 minutes drive away, which is a great place for family outings.

Gore Street

"A tiny street in an industrial zone"

One of the worst streets I have ever visited. Although it is mostly considered an industrial zone, there are several small houses there. Bordering Sandgate Road, the noise levels are always extreme.

There are a few nearby shopping centres and a McDonalds, however you do need to travel a fair way to do any major shopping. It also takes a long time to get into the city, which is not very convenient for anyone who works there.

Moreton Street

"Overlooking a Golf Course"

If you are a keen golfer, then Moreton Street is the perfect place. Overlooking the 18 hole Dalby Golf Course, it is a nice, quiet street that is close to the centre of Dalby.

Pretty much ever house on this street owns their own golf cart, so if you are looking for a golfing partner there are dozens of potential competitors. Because of the size of Dalby you can get anywhere within a few minutes, as well as living on one of the nicest streets in town.

Summing up, the golf course is the hub of Moreton Street and would be perfect for retirees.

Whitford Street

"Quiet, Peaceful Street Overlooking Tingalpa Park"

Whitford Street is a really peaceful street, and is a great suburban location. It is close to Carindale Shopping Centre, and backs on to Tingalpa Park, which is great for kids to play in and the occasional cricket game.

The street has a real community feel where everybody knows everyone else. Although it is not close to the city, it only takes about 15 minutes by car to get there. A perfect place for anyone interested in a quiet street.

Sylvan Road

"Great Inner Suburb Living"

Sylvan Rd is a great place to live. Half way between the Brisbane City and the University of Queensland it is an amazing location.

Shopping wise the street is close to Toowong Village, a small shopping centre and only a train ride, or five minute drive, from the larger Indooroopilly Shopping Centre.

Close to Toowong State School and the presitigous Brisbane Boys College, as well as an easy bus or City Cat ride to UQ, Sylvan Rd has great access to educational institutions.

On the river end of the Street is the well known Regatta Hotel and adjoining restauants, a bustling night spot for people of all ages, but especially a hot spot for UQ students.

Traffic can be a noise factor due it's proximity to the major Coronation Drive and Milton Rd.
