Reviews of Walkerville Terrace, Walkerville

"Value for money..."

Walkerville Terrace is a great street in Walkerville/Gilberton and is more affordable for the area because of the location bringing through more traffic then other streets in Walkerville. My Family friends just purchased a great house in Walkerville Terrace and i cant keep away or here much traffic at all... With the block sizes generally being bigger than other streets you get more in Walkerville Terrace..

"One of Adelaide's most prestigious addresses"

Walkerville is like a little town within a city. The area is very historic and features many beautiful Victorian stone houses as well as the newer mansions (many built in the Victorian style). It's an area for wealthy people, so expect to see lots of Mercedes and BMWs driving around :) This also means that some of the shops on Walkerville Tce are a little pricey. Walkervile Primary School is EXCELLENT and one of the most sought-after public schools in SA. You can try to enrol, but you won't be accepted unless you live in the zoned area. The proximity to the Linear Park make this a fantastic suburb to live in if you like recreation. There are good walking tracks and bike tracks as well as playgrounds and the river. All of this is within 5-10 mins from the CBD. Perfect!!

"Great place for families and retirees"

Walkerville is an exclusive Adelaide suburb, and Walkerville Terrace is its main street. There are a number of houses along this street - some are huge, others are units, others are bungalows. The residents range from retirees to families to uni students.

The area has a very established feel, with a number of retirees in the area and a large retirement home on the terrace itself. As a result, the rate of change in this area is often quite slow. For example, there is a huge supermarket complex now under development, but this has been seriously delayed (multiple times!) due to numerous local objections.

There are just a handful of shops and cafés, as well as a bowling green and a couple of schools.

It is a great spot for recreation - the suburb is on the edge of the River Torrens, which offers long walking and cycling tracks.
