"family friendly suburb close to cbd"

Great place to live, moved here from Sydney over three years ago and really enjoy the change.
It’s a quiet family friendly area with a really nice community feel.
It’s only 15 mins away from Newcastle’s beautiful beaches/ CBD.
It has all amenities needed including and great Real estate potential.

Looking for a home in Wallsend?

"Great quiet family-friendly suburb"

I have lived in Wallsend for 4 years. The street I live in is super quiet (which I love!), with a mix of retired older couples and families with primary school age children. The main shopping centre and major parks are all within 10-15 minutes walk from my house, and it's about 15-20 minutes drive to all the main Newcastle beaches.

People are friendly and there are some great local festivals (like the Wallsend Winter Fair) where everyone gets involved - they close the main street to traffic and let the festivities take over the town, which is great fun & the kids love it.

"Ideal Investment suburb"

Wallsend is one of Newcastle's premier rental suburbs with close proximity to the University, Local shops, Sporting ovals and a brief drive to the CBD. With a 33% rental demand for 3-bedroom homes and an average of 11 days on the rental market, consistency of tenants is not hard to come by.

"Great Small Town with everything you need!"

I have lived in Wallsend for 33 years and have found this community amazing! Over the past 5-10 years, Wallsend has really been built up with a variety of shops and cafes. Having the Freeway so close, bunnings and shopping centre, there isnt to much you need to lease Wallsend for.
Wallsend is only 20 minutes into Newcastle's CBD. There are a variety of the elderly and families living in the area and a bunch of great local schools - Zoned for Wallsend is Wallsend Public, Wallsend South & Plattsburg public school, for High School - Callaghan College.

"A great place for young families."

There is a very good coffee shop - wildflower. And some young couples have moved in and done some beautiful Reno’s of the old mining cottages. 15 -20 minutes to major shopping centres (westfields) and beaches. Really lovely local parks.

I have moved here from
Sydney over a yr ago and witnessed next to no crime? Any crime was supposedly petty theft from teens at shops which appears to have been cleaned up by a bigger police presence.
It's only a 15 min drive to beautiful beaches also - it's a quiet family orientated suburb that's close to the heart of Newcastle with huge potential in real the estate market .

I come from Elermore Vale but was on the border of Wallsend, was a great place to grow up. Currently living in Sydney and can't wait to come home. It really does not take long to get to the beaches, major shopping etc so I have no idea why this is even an issue for lauram28.

"close to town and the freeway"

wallsend, which firstly started as a mining town/suburb. was initially the next major centre to the west of newcastle. it now spreads over a large distance and has many pockets, differing environments. many estates are now dotted throughout .
shopping is generally good with a choice of 3 stockland centres within 10 minutes drive, as well as the more modern and retail diverse westfield complexes which are within 20 minutes.
close to the newcastle university. callaghan college also has 3 combined campus in jesmond , wallsend, and waratah. whilst high schools are also located at glendale and cardiff. plenty of small primary schools are located within either walking or driving distance from any part of wallsend.
medical facilities are good with several clinics nearby as well as the wallsend hospital (now clinic) and newcastle and the hunter's major medical centre, the john hunter hospital less than 10 minutes away. several nursing homes are also nearby.
20-25 minutes drive to the beaches and city of newcastle, depending on what time of day.
wallsend is a good suburb with a vast range of ethnicity and range from singles/family/ to the retiree.
great sporting facilities with a plethora of parks and bushland also. greyhound racing track, swimming pool, gyms and major sport complexes/stadiums within 15 minutes drive.
