"Sunday is market day"

Feel like a coffee and crepes to start your Sunday. Head to Honeywood Oval for the Local Farmers Market! Great fresh produce, local craft and food trucks. There's lots for the little ones and your fur babies!

"A close knit community"

Love this suburb and the close knit community that the private estates have. Friendly and helpful neighbours, many parks, a good mix of young and old families in this suburb. There are lots of activities for kids and adults organised. The highlight is the sunday markets and the general vibe of the community. The only drawback is that the shopping centre is 3 Ks away and the beeliar to berrigan drive traffic!

Absolutely love this suburb.

"Best kept secret in Perth"

All the pleasure, peace and quiet of living in the country with all the benefits of only being 20mins from the city. Short drive to Cockburn Central which includes large shopping centre and train access to the city. Latest subdivision at Honeywood (suburban residential) will provide additional services - local deli etc. The best aspect to Wandi is the space - lots are a minimum of 5acres, but there are larger lots available. There is a great community centre, riding area and facilities on DeHaer Road - all interconnected with bridle paths.

Great for

  • Peace and quiet
  • Country lifestyle 20mins from the city
  • Affordable

Not great for

  • No reticulated water or gas
  • No local cafe/restaurant or deli

"Best of both worlds"

I grew up in Wandi in the 1980's. With most blocks being 2ha, Wandi has lots of the benefits of places much further out of town. Many people keep horses, dogs, cats and birds. Riding clubs are based at the Wandi equestrian centre near the Wandi Hall and there are many tracks to be ridden through the "thousand acres" at the back of the equestrian centre. Other activities such as wood-working, land care, tennis, fitness-boxing and mothers groups also take place around the Wandi Hall complex. As well as the land care group, locals also volunteer in the Mandogalup Bushfire brigade. Nature reserves provide areas for bushwalking. There's room on your property for a vegie garden, fruit trees, and you can get creative with an ornamental garden. So lots of "country" benefits and yet a major shopping centre is 15 minutes away at Cockburn Gateway.Other near-by shops include Kwinana Hub, Atwell IGA and Rockingham City. Restaurants and bars are only half an hour away at Fremantle and Rockingham. The Mandurah train line provides easy access to Perth with stations at Cockburn and Kwinana, and new one opening up at Rowley Rd in the next couple of years. Wandi is a great place to grow up with lots of room to play outside, build cubbie-houses and keep pets. Hopefully block sizes won't get smaller than 2ha any time in the near future but as surrounding areas are being developed, facilities just keep getting better and better.
