"Research the history"
For those whom value their health, children, community and investment.
Most of us are well aware that Newcastle has an industrial history.. It is worth investigating. Waratah had a copper smelter, a gasworks and still has a large industrial site operating near the border of Mayfield.
I lived in Waratah for approximately 26mths and am in the process of relocating out of the area, after realising I was residing on the former gasworks site. I was not informed about the precautionary advice associated with the environmental hazards that were issued prior to my residence.
Look up 'Barrett’s 1910 map Waratah' to view where the gasworks was, as it clearly identifies the area.
The former gasworks at Camden and the class action that is being pursued is worth noting.
"Waratah comes of age."
Growing up in Waratah I found it to be a very safe neighborhood that was a little sleepy. Many years down the track and Mum still lives there and the place has certainly tapped into it's massive potential.Waratah is a safe suburb that offers great buying.
