WARATAH WYNARD Council recieved large amounts of money from federal government, yet cannot or will not provide adequate rubbish facilities at its popular tourist sites, Table Cale Lookout and Linglis River park where bins are either far from adequate, or non existent. A beautiful part of Tasmania, but totally inadequate facilities. I have emailed them, with some response, ie: a small bin at Table Cape Lookout, where, previously there had been twolarge bins afixed to posts....meantime their excuse is costs !
I am a resident, and will continue to email, photograph, and post public notices until they do something.

"Friendly & supportive community."

Don't know where the $1000. land is??? Great location. Central to all West Coast tourist destinations. Great Caravan Park right in the center of town & beside the beautiful Lake, short walk to the outstanding waterfall. Loads of well presented history along with the museum & fantastic interpretation center. Has a Hotel, PO & council office & a great road house with all your supplies along with take away food. Police, Ambulance, SES & Fire Brigade , Golf Club all based in town. 40min trip in to Burnie on good road..

"Where is Waratah"

Waratah is a very cold and isolated town. There is no longer a school here and hardly any shops or things to do. The advantage of Waratah is that the blocks and houses are extremely CHEAP! I have seen blocks for sale for under $1000.

This is a nice place to be if you like snow, paddocks and you dont have to work. Good for someone with lots of cash and nothing else to do.

  • Lovely scenery
  • Very affordable housing

  • Extremely cold
