Warrimoo, NSW 2774

We moved to Warrimoo about 3 years ago. We didn’t know too much about the suburb when we moved, so we were a little nervous, but is has been such a great place to live!

We have found the neighbours to be friendly and considerate. The train station is easy to get to - so it’s an easy commute to the city. Lots of bird life and a nice quiet location. Just wish there was a coffee shop!

My partner and I moved to Warrimoo in September 2016 when we purchased a house. We originally intended to use the property for investment purposes but we fell in love with the place and the area whilst renovating. We love Warrimoo!

Warrimoo is a quiet village in the Lower Blue Mountains with many beautiful old houses and recreational opportunities galore. It has two schools (one public, one private), several shops, a good Italian restaurant, several parks, ovals, tennis courts and many walks and fire trails to explore. The Florabella Pass and the Rickard Rd Fire Trail are particularly good walks and offer great views, flora and fauna. It has easy access to the Parramatta and the City with the train station an easy 5-10 minute walk from most properties. You can also drive to Springwood and Blaxland in 5 minutes which have many restaurants, shops and services. Penrith is about a 15 minute drive. Unfortunately the closest major supermarket is in Winmallee (Coles) or Emu Plains (Woolworths) which are both about a 10-15 minute drive away. However, there is a general store in Warrimoo or a Supa IGA in Blaxland for your day-to-day needs.

Warrimoo is a friendly place and we have found our neighbours to be kind, considerate and very welcoming. We are a gay couple and were initially a little unsure how people would treat us. However, everyone has been very kind and they seem mostly inclusive and rather progressive. We even joined the local Bushfire Brigade and have found them to be a wonderful bunch of people.

Excellent for living in a bush setting with wildlife around. Abundance of birds, etc, which is lovely. People will talk to you once, find out who you are, where you are from and then ignore you. I lived here for 10 months and did not make one friend, I have never had that issue anywhere else. I found people to be recluse, exclusive and not welcoming or friendly at all. Fantastic public school with outstanding teachers who really care. I would not recommend living here unless you already know people here and can easily enter a circle of friends, or you like to be alone. Because it is a very lonely place, if you have no family or friends nearby. People here stick to themselves and are very reluctant to let newcomers in. Other than that, a very pretty, peaceful place.

Warrimoo is a great little village... Driving along the highway, if not for the sign, you wouldn't even know it was there!! We moved from the Bankstown area so a real tree change for us... We moved mainly for our sanity and that of our furkids (5 border collies)....

Love the quiet nights... We are right near a school so sometimes it can be quite busy when there are activities at the school otherwise a great location...

Tennis Courts and footy fields across the road.. Great for exercise for us and the dogs!!

Made the right decision when we moved up here!!

Warrimoo is a great little town, we moved here just 3 years ago, and to be honest, had never really known where it was, funny thing, is that we moved from Glenbrook , about 10 minutes down the highway.

You can drive past on the highway, and not realise that there are many many cute mountains cottages lining the roads, that sit just in front of the bush.

The neighbours are GREAT , without any hassels, they look out for your home, and pets ! Love that, when we both work !.

Warrimoo is a small town in the lower Blue Mountains. Connected to the city by train and the Great Western Highway, you can drive through it without ever noticing! That, however, is it's charm. The marjority of the suburb is quiet and leafy, with many houses backing on to bushland and valleys. These are a number of lowely walking tracks and lookout points to be enjoyed by outdoors types, and many streets have sidewalks, making the area largely wheelchair and pram-friendly (there is no access to the station by wheel chair - closest access in one suburb away at Blaxland). The area is well served for schools with the John Wycliffe christian school (Co-ed, K-12) on Rickard Rd, as well as a primary school. The local high school students largely attend Blaxland high, which is served by buses. The area is very family friendly and safe, ideal for families and those who prefer a quieter (and less expensive!) life. With nearby Blaxland shops, the area serves all the basic needs, and it is a fifteen mintute drive to nearby department stores and retail centres. Many of the residents are long-term and are quick to welcome newcomers and give you a smile.
