"Beautiful suburb but lacking councils attention!"

Superb and well located suburb on the south side, nice area but we could do a bit of shop lots and restaurants around the Wellard primary school area. The council could do better in making the suburb look much better but someone is sitting around and doing nothing I guess!

"Congested and Poor Urban Setting"

Poor Urban setting with bulk small cottage blocks with neighbouring houses inches from yours.

Crime can also be unsettling and has become a problem.

"Tiny blocks"

There's nothing in Wellard and the houses are on tiny blocks. Don't know why it's rated so high, it's boring to me.

"Love living in this beautiful suburb"

We have lived here since October 2015. What I love is the feel of an almost country life with beautiful trees and birds and great neighbours but near all amenities-the freeway, train stations, major and minor shopping centres etc. so glad we made the move.

"Peace and quiet, surrounded by great parks with easy access to great public transport"

I have been living here with a few friends for a year or so. Neighbours have all been really friendly. It's quiet with plenty of parks around to walk the dogs and kick the ball around. Only takes 2 minutes to walk to the train station which gets me to the city easily. Definately a growing neighbourhood for families, young couples or retirees looking to downsize.

"A great suburb for families."

During spring/ summer alot of families are out doors, playing in parks and walking the dogs it all adds to the great community spirit that Wellard has, and it will only get better with time when the shopping centre goes up, tavern, restaurant and the schools etc. I have built twice in Wellard and really love living there.

"Great location, peaceful retreat but within 2kms of freeway."

Friendly neighbours, nearby park, playground, basketball court, tennis courts, bbqs and oval at local hall/fire station. Easy to get to freeway - 2kms and less than 30mins to Perth and easy access to Mandurah and down south. It now takes a little over an hour to Bunbury from my front gate.
If you love birds there are plenty. Galahs, black cockatoos, ring necks, finches, magpies, murray magpies. We feed the wild birds and enjoy viewing them in our garden.
This is a good neighbourhood for the country lifestyle but within easy reach of good shopping (Gateway, Baldivis, Rockingham, The Hub), the train stations (Kwinana or Wellard), freeway (to Perth or down south).
Most properties are at least 5 acres so you have more room to do your thing, better than Homestead Ridge or Marri Park in that sense.
Oh and did I mention the Marri Park Golf Course and Tavern and The Chase at Baldivis, the nearest locals.
