Dirty suburb, many social apartments, rubbish everywhere. However, good public transport and many shops nearby

Wentworthville is one of the best suburbs to live in if one is after practical living with excellent transport connectivity, lots of shopping options and close to schools and hospitals. The suburb is well established and there is a lot of greenery around in comparison to many other nearby suburbs. We contemplated a number of suburbs to buy including new ones such as Schofields, Rouse Hill side of Tallawong and Box Hill which were shiny as they are new but with narrow roads already leading to traffic congestion (hard to imagine the scene when these are fully occupied), cluttered new constructions and little or no greenery around and eventually settled for Wentworthville for all the practical aspects. Not many suburbs give one the convenience of direct trains to city with a max of 35-40 min commute, direct bus connectivity to Parramatta & Liverpool, tons of shopping options within the suburb, largest health precinct in Westmead and future Light Rail and proposed Metro in Westmead being less than 3 km away and Parramatta CBD approx 4 km away. The Wentworthville Public School is in midst of a massive upgrade expected to complete by mid of this year. There are a number of multi-cuisine restaurants near the station and in the shopping centre. Wenty Leagues is another hidden gem. Parramatta Westfield, Merrylands Stockland for shopping and Harris Park again for restaurants are within the 5km radius. With the amount of investment in Parramatta to make it the official second CBD and light rail development in Parramatta/Westmead, Wentworthville is undergoing a massive facelift with the old shopping mall on Dunmore St being replaced by multi-storey apartments with commercial space. A few other buildings are expected to follow in the next couple of years. With the Westmead metro expected in 2030, it is going to further improve the already existing train connectivity. Some of the reviews here mention 'crowded' - it is if you are in Veron or Dunmore street which is close to all the shops and the same goes for any other suburb. Also, Wentworthville is mostly multi-cultural when you look beyond the relatively new apartments in Veron street and thereabouts which are mostly rentals - we have 6 different ethnicities on our street. The one aspect it could improve on is the cleanliness with litters around the station area. Overall, Wentworthville offers great convenience of staying close to all the facilities and at the same time offers peace and quiet if you are not on the main shopping streets.

Since Parramatta became a CBD, I decided to move close to it by buying an old property and knockdown rebuild. My first preference was Westmead but it was ridiculously hard to find a house in Westmead and prices were very expensive so Wentworthville was my second choice as it was very close to everything plus the train station. Before moving to Wentworthville I lived in the Hills shire for almost 10 years, so moving here I wasn't sure what to expect and was very concerned about the safety. But now it has been 2 years since the move and haven't had any issues and feel we feel very safe. The neighbours and the demography is changing at a very fast rate with lots of knock down rebuild and the future town center upgrade will definitely change the outlook of this Suburb. I think being 3 minutes on train from Sydney's second CBD and couple of minutes drive from the Australia's largest Westmead hospital and health campus is a big luxury that not many other suburbs have.
The downside - The suburb is not green enough, the cumberland council has done nothing to date to make the place green ( except on paper - wasting their Public funds and time on planning several proposals to make the place green but none has been implemented). Also most of the current demography in the area are not wealthy enough to spend on landscaping which makes the area look dry.

I bought my unit here in 2019, bit high priced, but didn't regret as the convenience it offers out beats the money I paid. Frequent trains during busy hours, near by parks and also there is going to be a full fledged super market to be built in Dunmore street. This will be the first high rise in the neighborhood. The suburb will get a face lift after it has been revitalized by the new proposed changes. Yes it is overcrowded a bit, but we have to see what attracts people here. People complain but never leave the suburb, as they are mentally not prepared to lose the luxury. It will be a hot suburb when the situations is back to normal and people return to jobs. Then unit near public transport will get more attention. Till then as a first home buyer I will enjoy the moments I got here.

A home away from home, I do not miss my country after getting settled here.

-You have great connectivity of bus and train
-You have temples and churches
-You have many supermarkets, restaurants and take always
-You have a beautiful park
So office goers, elderly people, children and homemakers can have a quality life here.

Well, it's affordable, close to really good transport options (bus interchange, train station, cycleways everywhere going to Liverpool/Rouse Hill/Parramatta etc), has a moderate level of crime but I've never felt in danger or threatened by anyone. You get bad apples in every suburb.

The drivers here are TERRIBLE. Apartments are going up on every bit of available land. And the demographic...well, let's just say they're not the cleanest bunch around and there's litter EVERYWHERE. Honestly, this demographic has absolutely zero civic responsibility or pride in their neighbourhood, and if it's easier to dump their rubbish on the street instead of walking 3 meters to a bin they'll do it. If you live anywhere near a shopping centre/supermarket don't expect a good night's sleep. The local supermarket complex near the highway is busy nearly 24/7 with loud cars, steroes, bogans and people from a certain region associated with Bollywood who seem to have an in-built volume setting of 11. Seriously - loud talking, screaming children, noisy neighbours from this demographic have made our lives nearly unbearable.

Use this suburb as an entry to get onto the property ladder. Buy a cheap unit but don't expect any capital growth. Stay here for a couple of years until you're ready to upgrade and then get out.

Wentworthville is a great suburb that is close to friendly activities, like Wet'n'Wild and Parramatta Park. It has a mix of cultures, and age groups living in it, from students to families and older people. Not far to Parramatta, so great for work and study opportunities, and conveniently close to transport (it has a train station and lots of bus routes), a great place to live or invest.

Great people, safe, secure, good schools, 35 min to town hall station and the housing is still affordable!!

Great suburb to live - only 40 minutes by train to city and 8mins to parramatta station. There are frequent trains during peak hour. There are people from diverse background and the suburb is going through extensive gentrification.
Great public school which continues to do well due to kids coming from competitive migrant cultures.

There are enormous developments happening in Westmead and parramatta to drive employment and rejuvenate the neighbouring suburbs.

Wentworthville is a hidden gem of western sydney. You do not know its potential unless you live there. It is also one of the suburbs of sydney that is undergoing redevelopment. A number of new apartments and houses popping on both sides of the wentworthville railway station. It has got everything.

Supermarkets - Woolies, IGA and large indian super markets
Fastfoods & Restaurant - Hungry Jacks, Subway, Roosters, Dominos, Pizza Hut, lots of yummy indian and local restaurants
Shopping - The dunmore street shopping precinct has everything that you need in your day to day life. GP, Dentists, Convenience Stores, Photo Studio, Saloons, Post Office, All major banks and all
Childcare- There are lots of childcares on both sides of the wenty station
Transport - Well connected by train, bus and the suburb sits very near to M4, M2 and cumberland highway. Parramatta is a stone throw away without all the wierdos of parramatta roaming around. The wenty station also has commuter car park on both sides of the station.
Schools - Wentworthville Public School and Darcy Road Public School
The suburb also has the public library and the swimming pool
Lots of parks in and around
If you are family of professionals with both of you working with kids, this is one of the best suburbs to live.

Really close to parramatta.
Also trains to central every 15-20 minutes.
Shopping center is nearby really nice place!

Wentworthville is a redeveloping, with new houses sprouting everywhere. It's clean and safe to live in. Close to hospitals, good schools, lake, parks, public transport, M4, Childcare, restaurants, 5 mins to Parramatta.

Wentworthville is considered to be the Best in Sydney's West!

A Quiet Suburb filled with lots of Shops (Including Officeworks), Supermarkets, Food Outlets & Schools. In Close Proximity to the Parramatta Shopping Centre, this is the best!

Wenty is close to Parramatta.

This will be my 9th year in Wentworthville. Bringing up a young family, we moved from a unit in the inner city to find an affordable house with a backyard for the kids to play in. (best move). I commute to the CBD every day for work. Transport is great as I have the option either to walk to Wentworthville or Westmead station. Takes around 35-40minutes from home to work. There are also plenty of buses but not sure if they go to the city (????)
We live in the street pocket of Jordan, Haig, Hudson, Killeen streets, which I may be biased, but believe is the better part of Wentworthville. Good mixture of houses ,all extremely quiet streets with good level blocks of land. Streets surrounded by good shops, parks, schools, hospitals both Private and Public and great transport. Also close to Parramatta Park and Westfield Parramatta (less than 5 min drive).
Never had any break- in or any security problems. Neighbours are all friendly and know each other by first name. Good mixture of people from all different backgrounds.
Not a trendy suburb but neither your typical "westy" suburb.

Constitution Hill is truly an amazing place to live and bring up a family. The quiet streets are filled with trees, parks and friendly neighbours. There's a new Library, Emma Crescent Shopping Centre which has a variety of stores including a baker, Pizza Shops, Post Office, a Bottle shop and a variety of convenience stores. There is a dedicated T-way station with regular buses to Parramatta station and only an 18 minute walk to Wentworthville train station. It is also within the catchment area of the best public schools in the area, including Northmead Public and Northmead Performing arts High school.

The area is quite an aspirational one, with many people building the most amazing houses you'll see this side of Vaulcluse and as its located at the highest point in Western Sydney there are stunning views of the city and the greater Parramatta region.

Overall a Blue chip area, close to all necessities, perfect for families and those want to take the next step up in living.

I have bought 2nd house because this suburb is most valuable with so many facilities around... schools are best with multi cultural and high education for kids. There are so many training facilities and sports activities for kids....such as parramatta park.....

Wenty is generally a grubby burb with a pub, 2 Indian Restaurants, a handful of take-aways and 3 supermarkets. The locals are generally friendly, Indians or your garden variety classic bogan, born-here Aussies. I would guess that the primary schools in the area (including Westmead nearby) are predominantly attended by learners from language backgrounds other than English. (Linguistically speaking, that could lead to all the kids in attendance there ending up with an language deficit) The night-life is non-existent & there always seems to be a problem keeping breeding of cats, mice and rats under control and in Summer, cockroaches reign supreme and can be strapped onto the feet for the popular local sport of cockroach skating . Many of the old homes are made of asbestos fibro and if the house isn't, the add-ons and external laundries are. These are now breaking up due to their age and are an extreme health risk (asbestosis is a painful way to die.) This does not make the inhabitants feel any less safe than those around the harbour suburbs, as most of the asbestos ends up being illegally dumped there in the water anyway, in order to avoid the exorbitant cost involved in having it removed by qualified professionals.Dogs sometimes get stolen and be careful with your rabbits. There are a couple of parks with a good playground for kids and exercise circuit for those over 12 - but it's always swarming with those under 12, and is constantly getting vandalized, so good luck if you think you're going to get fit there. The parks also have plenty of discarded beer bottles and graffiti, and occasionally fecal matter in the doorways of the public toilets, which are often locked. There are always plenty of junkies to be spotted doing deals in particular areas, so deal spotting has become another local sport. Should a junkie appear to be following you with a possible intent to mug you, don't be alarmed as they are normally extremely obvious and therefore easy to notice and thus, to out-run.This is not a burb in which to carry valuables, especially near the station or parks. Also, it is advisable to ensure your home has excellent security cams and alarms, with lots of good night lighting, all of which you will probably have to pay for to install yourself. Failing that, invest in a premium home and contents insurance policy. Expensive, but that way you may be one of the few who don't get broken into by robbers - and you thought it was a bad thing to belong to a minority group! Good luck in your endeavour to locate a safe and comfortable home and may the Gracious God of Moving Things help you to get out of this place almost as soon as you've entered it.

Wentworthville is one the best suburbs to live in as it has got all major banks, cafes, restaurants, asian groceries shops, centre with motorways with hume highway, M4 motorway, Cumberland highway, good priced houses and units, good medical facility and much more to love this suburb

Great suburb for families.
Lots of retail shops (Woolie, Aldi & Franklin), close to M4 & Great western Hwy, quiet & safe, lots of schools, 5 minute drive to Westmead hospital, etc.
Many new houses under construction that make streets look fresh and many existing houses are still affordable.

There is no major shopping centre here but very close to Parramatta though.

Absolutely growing suburb that is packed with all good conveniences.

Wentworthville is a ten minutes' drive from Parramatta and about a thirty minutes' drive to the city via the M4 motorway. It is a very convenient suburb that is well connected by trains and buses. There are schools around here and hence making it a very popular suburb for families with young children.

Dunmore Street and Station Street are the main streets. There are plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and take away stores around here. There are also many chemists and doctors for your health needs. Franklins and Woolworths also operate out of this suburb.

Wentworthville has a good mix of low-density residential units and houses. It is also very affordable living here as house prices are not as dear as Greystanes.
