"New flight path here"

The latest info for western Sydney airport reveals werrington is in the direct flight path plan. I’ll never get my money out of this property market. Not to mention all of the drug addicts and nearby kingswood methadone clinic. This used to be a nice area but now it’s crime ridden and will soon be louder then mascot, with these cargo planes soon to be coming in and out.

Hi George, Could you share the source of information about flight paths please. We are considering to buy in Penrith and hearing a lot of different views. If you know an authentic source would be of great help.

"Been about a year now and it's actually been great!"

W purchased a house just nearby Werrington Public School and what a find it has been. We bought out here due to budget restraints and had our worries.

To be honest there are at times the odd ones around the train station and shops but once your in the residential areas towards the west of the station it really is a great area to live. I dont understand why there are such bad reviews on here. Although it does get very hot here in the summer. But planting more trees can help that.

There is a number of sports fields around. Werrington Lake is beautiful with children's playgrounds and water fountains. And along the main road there has been development after development. Drive west from werrington station on victoria rd and you will see about 4 new townhouse blocks with maybe 2 or more half way or beginning to build. See for yourself!

I highly reccomend Werrington. There is a good community feel and you can feel that people look out for one another.

If I had 2 choices one being to drive through this suburb and the other to sh*t in my hands and eat it I’d chose to chow down.

"Luckily penrith area has a good council!!"

I’ve lived here for over 14 years, I’m so excited I’m getting out of this dump next week. What does the council have to do with my review ?

Well if it wasnt for the council this place would be filthy, the residents here just don’t care they will literally defecate on your porch. Yes literally only 3 months ago I woke up to go to work, to only step in human faeces and find my garbage bins melted by the local fire bugs.

I’m telling you these people love burning bins. Every bin night these goons light it up and don’t try to stop them they will hurt you. The only thing you can do is watch them walk off and put it out after before the bin is badly damaged.

Luckily the council is fast at replacing the damaged bins and cleaning the streets.

Would I recommend living here ? Yes and no.
I wouldn’t buy here for the simply fact your property is likely to be damaged. From graffiti to break ins it’s not worth it. If you do buy here try and buy a unit or townhouse so the damage is covered by strata.
If your a young family or just needing a house renting is a good option since the bill will be the landlords responsibility and not yours. But if you do have kids keep a eye on them and send them to private schools and keep them away from the local rif raf. The last thing you need is your kids to become drug addicted bin burners or subjected to bullying.

You must be a real estate agent this is a small suburb with over 8% of it being housing commission. You will see the local wildlife at the train station and heavey street.

"A slice of hell"

Werrington is full of drunks, junkies and housos. Ever since the housing commission has moved in, i have never been able to get the value of my house back. My children have been ruthlessly bashed by the locals twice and i have been glassed in the face at the local pub. Plus my car has been burnt due to local fire bugs. Stay away from werrington its the new mt druitt.

Not great for

I have to agree. Around about 3 months ago I received what the locals call a gutter smiley. They held my head on the gutter and put my top set of teeth on the edge and then one of them jumped on my head. I will never be the same.

"Welcome to Hicksville"

In the heat of summer you have close all your windows at night when you go to bed else risk an unwelcome guest. There is nothing to do in Werrington. A small group of run down mix businesses and grubby fish and chip joints. Favourite past time are burn outs on the roads. A suburb of mostly unemployed people this is country living at the lower end of the social scale.

Werrington is a nice area for kids with plenty of parks and open spaces. We're close to local shops, buses, train station, cricket pitch, soccer field and tennis courts, child care, primary and secondary schools and the university and TAFE, post office and a couple of GP's. There is also the Colonial hotel which has been renovatedand it has a decent restaurant. We're only a short drive from St Mary's or Penrith and the area is well served by trains and buses....

"Junkie area"

There are a lot of junky people in this area who are very noisy most of the time and swear alot. It is not recommended for family especially with young children. When we moved here, the first week - our stuff was stolen from the garage (which even though is locked can still be broken into from the other garages). Apart from the junkies, there are also drunks who swear alot and there is also a lot of violence from the surrounding apartments. But the area is clean and looks very pleaseful/pleasant.

Ok, so I don't know everyone in the street, (even after 10 years) but my immediate neighbours are friendly and caring and typically concerned about our families and homes. We look out for each other and give a helping hand when its needed without intruding on each other's lives...

We're close to local shops, buses, train station, cricket pitch, soccer field and tennis courts, child care, primary and secondary schools, post office and of course the Colonial hotel which has been renovated, complete with restaurant. We're only a 5 min drive from St Mary's or 10 minutes from Penrith; what more can you ask for!!!
