Windermere is located approximately a 20 minute drive from the Launceston CBD. With mainly large acreage homes, Windermere is a beautiful area off the Tamar which would be suitable for homeowners, investors and renters alike. It is a quiet area that could suit singles, couples, families not matter their age or lifestyle. Windermere is truly a lovely place to live in the north of the state.

Windermere and Swan Bay would have to be one of the better locations in the North of the state and not too far away from all the conveniences the North of the state has to offer. Windermere Road winds around the East tamar which makes a drive in the area an absolute delight, starting from the southern end of windermere road with average size house blocks with river frontage and larger parcels of land on the opposing side of the road with amazing views. As the road loops around to Swan Bay, generally the block sizes start at an acre up to 200 acres. Classed as semi rural with absolute peace and quiet. Local doctor in the area, school buses run Daily to Launceston and George Town and it takes approximately 12 minutes to drive to Launceston from swan Bay. If you ever get the opportunity, go to Swan bay entrance of Windermere Road and view the sunset (fantastic) as it drops over the hills and reflects off the river. Looking for something special with a little land just out of town.... I highly recommend Swan Bay and Windermere.

Whilst there is only a corner shop 5 minutes drive down the road and a pub another 5 minutes in the other direction, Swan Bay isn't that isolated. 12 minutes drive from the City of Launceston it offers the ability to live in the country without having to travel hours to work every day.

If you don't like native birds and animals this place isn't for you. No noise from neighbours, no drunken people roaming the streets on the weekend abusing everyone, no kids on their dirt bikes being chased by the police. Definitely not for the person who wants to live in their neighbours back pockets.

Houses run on town water with a septic system. Your only a short stroll or bike ride from the Tamar River. Blocks are large with a mix of cleared land and bush. Not too rocky. Road access is great. The prices of houses are a little higher than that of some of the area's of Launceston however, with bigger blocks more privacy and clean fresh non polluted air it's worth the price difference.
