"Wouldn't live anywhere else"

Woodlands is a truly wonderful place for families to live and grow in. We were finally given an opportunity to buy land and build here several years ago after an extended period of waiting for something to come up.
As a real estate agent specialising in Woodlands, Scarborough, Wembley, Doubleview, Innaloo, Gwelup, Karrinyup and Trigg for over 17 years, I have studied and developed an in-depth knowledge of these local areas along our beautiful coast, and location being of the utmost importance when it comes to property, I can say with absolute conviction, Woodlands is the very best place to live.

Woodlands is a perfectly located pocket, offering a harmonious blend of nature, community, and convenience. Property here is rarely released back to the market and demand certainly outweighs supply.

It is very tranquil, peaceful, family-friendly and community-focused, with wonderful parks, natural birdlife, picnic spots and walking trails of Jackadder Lake; local shops, cafes and restaurants.

Our kids can walk to Woodlands Primary and two of Perth’s most esteemed secondary schools; Hale and Churchlands Senior High, which is a major benefit to living in this location.
The proximity to the CBD, the coast and all that is on offer here is why we will never live anywhere else.

"Coveted location for good reason"

Woodlands is a perfectly located pocket of Perth offering a harmonious blend of nature, community, and convenience.
Homes rarely become available for sale in Woodlands and demand certainly outweighs the supply - therefore, it’s a tough area to get into and families are often waiting for years to find a home in this location.

It is very tranquil, peaceful and family and community friendly, with wonderful parks, the natural birdlife, picnic spots and walking trails of Jackadder Lake; great local shops, cafes and restaurants, and is within walking distance of Woodlands Primary and two of Perth’s most esteemed secondary schools; Hale School and Churchlands Senior High School.

The pocket is next door to Innaloo’s shopping and dining precinct, Osborne Park Commercial District as well as a few minutes drive to the beach (Scarborough, Trigg and City Beach) and just 9km from the CBD.
With its desirable location and unique charm, Woodlands continues to be a hidden oasis in Perth's northern suburbs.

"Stay away"

Too much crime I lived near innaloo side and this place is unfortunately close to the undesirables of it.

May of changed in last couple of years

"Glad to be back"

I moved to Woodlands in 2000 with my parents and was lucky enough to move back with my own family last year.
We had to look for over a year to find a suitable property, and even then it required a fair bit of work to get it up to a good standard.
The location is great, with commute to the CBD in 15 minutes and the beach at the end of scarborough beach road.
The shopping centre is small but has all you need, and the lake is a great hub for recreation in the area.
We hope to stay in the area for many years now that we've found a good spot!

  • Great for families
  • Jackadder Lake
  • Quiet and friendly
  • Great proximity to cycle paths & beaches

Not great for

  • Realestate in short supply

Rentals in Woodlands

"A great little suburb"

I grew up in Woodlands and now I'm raising my kids here too. Lovely neighbourly spirit amongst new and long term residents. Great age mix, especially now housing diversity has increased and some older residents have downsized but remained in the area. Shopping good and reasonably priced at Woodlands Village or Innaloo Shopping Centre. Great options for eating out and movies along Scarborough Beach Road Innaloo and Leige Street and with restaurants and takeaway at Woodlands Village too. Reasonable proximity to Mitchell Freeway and West Coast Highway to go North or South and into the City. Traffic in the suburb has increased recently, particularly along Birchwood Ave - public transport could be better. Recreational options with Jackadder Lake, Herdsman Reserve, beaches, bicycle paths and the myriad grassy reserves and their swings and slides are plentiful. Stirling Council do a good job with upkeep. It's a walking/jogging/cycling suburb with its own dog walker sub-culture. It feels safe and secure - there'll nearly always be someone to watch out for your house if you're away. Medical needs are well met with two doctors surgeries at the Woodlands Village too. Local schools good. Proximity to city, Subiaco, Leederville reasonable. Homes are well cared for - it's a great little suburb.

"Woodlands - Perths best kept secret"

A small suburb that most people haven't heard of, but is close to everything. Bordered by Scarborough, Doubleview, Innaloo, Wembley Downs and Churchlands, Woodlands is 10 mins from the CBD and 5 mins from the beach. It has it's own small shopping precinct with Farmer Jacks, 2 x doctors, chemist, beauty saloon, hair dressers, takeaways (including Perth's best fish and chips and a Thai) tucked away next to Jackadder lake which is a mini paradise and great for kids and remote control sail boats!

It's predominantly retirees and families living in the suburb. Currently there are a lot of new houses and home improvements being made with substantial dream houses being built. In 5 years time, I'd imagine that the median house price of $1.2M will have significantly increased.

If you're able to live on the hill, you're going to have fantastic 180 degree views of Herdsman Lake, Jackadder Lake and the CBD.

Lots of trees and greenery, a peaceful neighbourhood where kids can still play in the streets. Why live anywhere else?

"Best kept secret in Perth"

I've been living in Woodlands for 5 years now, and have previously lived in Scarborough and Doubleview. Woodlands is a small suburb, yet filled with all the great things perfect for family living. There is a picturesque park, the best cinemas in Perth, great shopping, 3 of the best high schools in Perth all within a short distance and a wonderful community feel.
The bad thing about Woodlands? It is such a small suburb that it is rare to find your dream home for sale here! But are there dream homes here? Yes - there are plenty of new luxury homes being built and the rest are old character homes that have been lovingly cared for by their original owners. Woodlands residents are famous for 'staying put' once they're here, so many of the original owners who first built when the land was released still live here. There is a wonderful mix of old and new residents. Mostly the aged and families.
It's a very short distance one of Perth's premier shopping centres, Karrinyup, yet even our local Innaloo shopping centre is a great place to shop.
We're also close to some of Perth's best beaches... Scarborough, Floreat, City Beach and Trigg.
If you like arts and entertainment, then Woodlands is probably not the best suburb. Woodlands is close to cafe strips like Leederville and Mount Hawthorn, but you'd need to drive for @ 10 mins to get there.
So if you're into family living filled with great beaches, great shopping, great schools, great parks and great movies, then Woodlands is Perth's Best kept secret!
