"Oceanfront backyard for under a million ???"
We moved here from Mosman and Manly in Sydney four years ago.
Bundaberg is a little hard to take after Sydney (or anywhere really) - however - Bargara is a fantastic little friendly beach village - very similar to Lennox Head in NSW actually (same size, same people) without the perfect board riding waves : (
The most amazing thing is the price here. Our huge backyard falls directly into the ocean - it's simply incredible. Upon a returning from a holiday recently - we were amazed to find a 100yr old loggerhead turtle washed up on our backyard !!! Took six of us to carry it back ou to water.
I've never seen a place with houses this close to the water/ocean and the most incredible part is the ridiculousy cheap price - just under or on a million dollars for 1/4 acre oeanfront. You'd pay 15 million in Manly, Sydney for that !!!
My only complaint ? We're so close to the ocean that the waves are so loud some nights you can't sleep !!! Could be worse I guess... : )
If you're in your mid thirties and dont have to work anymore - this place is spot on. Any younger than that and I think you'd be bored silly here - especially if you've come from syd or melb.
As for Bundy (closest town) stay away if you can - it gives real meaning to the phrase imbreeding and it's basically one giant centrelink office and simply a world of its own - "The land Of The Lost" we call it.
David.

"Some amazing waterfront homes"
Away from the centre of Bargara with it's newly built low and hi-rise apartment complexes, this relaxed part of Bargara offers some amazing waterfront homes and still a couple of vacant blocks!!
