"Paradise Regained"

With reasonable prices and perfect views in every direction, this is a village that somehow is part of Melbourne. Enjoy driving with no traffic lights, having breakfast in a winery, snugging round your fire when it's minus 4c, really, it's the best place.

Looking for a home in Yarra Glen?

"Quiet little town where community and safety comes first"

I’ve lived in Yarra glen for six years and coming from some of the most unsafe suburbs of Melbourne (western and northern) I can tell you, Yarra Glen is one of, if not the best and the safest suburb in Victoria! Yes it’s a little expensive but it’s worth every cent!
The internet connect is fabulous and traffic is zero. The fresh produce is absolutely brilliant and it’s cheaper than the western suburbs. Some of the most amazing restaurants, wineries, breweries, distilleries and orchards in Australia at your doorstep.
The schools are fantastic and all offer school buses. I can ravel off a heap of unsafe western and northern suburbs of Melbourne... this town is an absolute gem!
The blocks are big and the council have no intention of allowing blocks of units to be erected.
My three daughters have gone from having to escorted everywhere they go to finally being able to walk freely around town and come home when the street lights are on.
The views of the Dandenongs, from my home are breathtakingly beautiful and sitting on my deck watching the sun set over the Christmas hills is something that I only thought happened in movies.
Some may say that having ‘ A day on the green’ brings a lot of traffic but I’m usually at those concerts, so the five minute drive to the winery is nothing but a bonus in my opinion!
Yarra Glen... not just a town where you visit for a day but a town to raise your kids in a loving, accepting and safe community.

"I moved out a few months ago."

I used to live there until our house got broken into multiple times. We just didn't feel safe anymore. But living there was an experience and i wouldn't do it again. Not recommended, better places in Melbourne

"A fantastic place to grow, learn, relax or retire!"

Having grown up in Yarra Glen, I have such fond memories. Tennis, netball, community spirit, a welcoming town with the old fashioned country feel... and yet still modern - with all the ammenities you'd need. I couldn't recommend Yarra Glen highly enough... especially for a young family - if you're thinking of horses, ducks, rabbits, trail bikes, great views, clean air, friendly neighbours and most of all, creating such fond, different, cherished memories, Yarra Glen is the place for you and your kids!

"Fresh, Green and Clean!"

Yarra Glen is a great little town made up of friendly neighbours and shopkeepers, surrounded by beautiful views. It's got all the mod-cons you need today, but is a bit like going back in time as far as a less stressful lifestyle goes. It's the sort of place you can still safely tell your kids to "be home before the street lights come on."

""Want to know a secret?""

Yarra Glen is one of Australia’s best kept secrets. After raising my family in Yarra Glen over the last 25 years, I cannot think of a better place to live. My adult children still thank me today for bringing them up in such a wonderful town. Yarra Glen offers a healthy, relaxed lifestyle to young and old, rich and poor. Its residents include everyday Australians and multimillionaires, living in homes ranging from older style homes and modern units to up-market mansions on large acreage. Although less than an hour from the CBD or Tullamarine Airport, a beautiful home here, with plenty of space, costs a fraction of something not half the size or quality in the inner suburbs. Fortunately, the misconception of many Melbournians that “Yarra Glen is too far out” has prevented this town from becoming another over-crowded suburb, and helped preserve its good natured way of life, typical of earlier Australia. If you’re looking for a friendly community, a safe and secure environment, a healthy lifestyle away from the rat-race, but close to all you need, then the secret is out- it’s postcode 3775.

"A small country town in the heart of Victoria's wine country"

Yarra Glen is situated about 40 kilometres from Melbourne, in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Famous for its wines (particularly whites and lighter reds), this town thrives on wine industry tourism.

It is a lovely country spot, with a population of just less than 3,000. There are many older style homes on large blocks in the town itself, and it is surrounded by a number of rural and farming properties.

There is a strong sense of community here, with an emphasis of sport and family.

Sadly the town and the surrounding region were very badly damaged by the bushfires in early 2009.

The town was not damaged in the 2009 fires at all. There were grassfires on the outskirts but you simply could not tell soon afterwards.
