No, because the lie of the land is very favourable. The series of ridge lines west of Bowen Mountain, combined with the Easterly aspect gives an extremely high degree of natural protection which would significantly slow the rate of spread and provide many options for containment of any bushfires. This makes Bowen Mountain much less of a risk than other Blue Mountains areas.

One of the wonderful things about living in the Hawkesbury is the pristine bushland and natural environment. Bush Fires are a concern for any areas where there are trees and as long as you are properly prepared you can enjoy the many benefits of living in such beautiful part of the world. We have sold 5 properties in Bowen Mountain since the bushfires 4 weeks ago.

The local rural bush fire brigade regularly do control burns and if you live near the bush yes fires are a concern in hot dry weather,Lots of houses have roof top sprinklers and fire fighting pumps & keeping the area around your property clear is wise. But then you can have a fire risk anywhere,3 years ago it was landillo & londonderry not so long before that it was canberra & victoria. The only way ensure no risk is to live in the city or cut all the trees down,As far as I know no house has ever been lost to bushfires up here and the residents up here like the bush, at least we didn't get flooded.
