Suburbs For Young Families In Brisbane

Brisbane
If like me and living in Australia’s ‘big two’ is not what you want. Then Brisbane may be the place to be. The city has a lot to offer families that wish to have a city life without the crazy prices that come with it being in Melbourne or Sydney. Here are some of the suburbs which I looked at when we were considering our new family home and would be ideal for a young family to start..

The Gap - Median Price is $615,000 with a 1.6% annual growth.
Located 8km from Brisbane CBD, The Gap has a road that takes you straight to the city center. This suburb has plenty of open spaces and schools in a safe environment. What I liked most about it was the leafy environment it has throughout. This suburb has fantastic state schools with families from three postcodes all wanting to get their children in. wanting a greener, cleaner lifestyle? Then this is the place to be.

Indooroopilly - Median Price is $799,000 with an annual growth of 4.1%
Found just west of Brisbane CBD, Indooroopilly has amazing public transport links. Great shopping centre, which is surrounded with many local businesses and other amenities.
Right on the river, I found this suburb to be picturesque and is also host of some of the best schools Brisbane have to offer such as St Peter’s Lutheran College.

Enoggera - Median Price of $645,000 with an annual growth of 3.3%
Often overlooked due to postcode snobbery, I found this suburb can provide a perfect location for a young family trying to get on the ladder for a great price. This suburb is located next to some of the most sought after and expensive postcodes in Brisbane. I thought that being near these suburbs may increase the chances of a profit once I sell in the future. Enoggera has easy access to schools and shopping facilities and also having great access to transport links to get you into the CBD in no time at all. This place has an amazing community spirit throughout.

Kendron is a lovely little suburb just out of Brisbane CBD - has some lovely tree lined streets. This suburb is great for the family. The Airport link tunnel makes getting to Fortitude Valley very easy and a pleasant experience getting to the gold coast as well! Great schools to choose from, it also benefits from Westfields Chermside Shopping centre.
