Wouldn't it be nice if Speedtest figures were quoted in each real estate listing? And better still if it was searchable like the number of bathrooms.

That will be the day.

Why do we need NBN? Cable running on mt street gives extremely good speed for what we use unternrt for. Majority of it is streaming video or youtube. If you don't have cable in your area then you should expect to get cable or nbn.

Infact most of the streaming inly requires 5 mbps speed.

The question by the OP was, WHEN is it coming. NBN is not available in Cherrybrook and not listed on the plans to be added anytime soon. So how (and quoted from you) "If you don't have cable in your area then you should expect to get cable or nbn." They can't get NBN, also cable is not available for all of Cherrybrook either. We have cable and at night it gets crowded, and goes slow because of all the people streaming movies like you and me, also streaming on requires 3 Mbps SD 480 / 5 Mbps MD 720 / 7+ Mbps for HD 1080 +

There is no immidate plans to bring the NBN to cherrybrook. As we have decent broadband and cable services. I know that the NBN is being rolled out to people that have lackluster internet.
So by my guess, you could see it in the next 2 or so years after areas around it are completed.
