i was thinking about my list reply and since corowa lost the pokie revenue in the mid 90's it has become popular with retirees as we know. and retirees and not known for spending money in a way people who have a weekly wage do so as the town fills with retirees the percentage of people living in corowa spending decline and hence a decline in shops and so it goes on. as i said the only way for a revival of the town to combat the seasonal tourist influx in for the council to sell it to companies.

the lack of the council promoting a couple of 'anchor' companies into the shire just like shopping centres need 'anchor' major chains to support the smaller businesses in the centre. uncle tobys and the pig farm are not enough. with the upgrade of the rail line in yarrawonga and land developers promoting the area and putting in nicer estates unfortunatley corowa will continue i believe to suffer unless more is done to get industry into the town maybe from albury by promoting the lifestyle for their workers. i dont reall know the full answer but more needs to be done otherwise yarrawonga/mulwala will boom and corowa decline even more. only retirees will come to corowa putting stress on the hospital and aged care services as private housing is cheap and the climate and shops great.
