Can you hear the air traffic in Currumbin?

Yes you can. They come in to land when the southerly winds are blowing. If you look at google maps and run a straight line from the run way you will see the basic flight path. The planes line up the runway just of the beach in south Palm Beach. They are much quieter landing. When they take off to the north into the NE wind they turn to sea very quickly so they don't really fly over Currumbin. They turn out to sea over Tugun. Probably 50% of planes take off and land north of the air port the others are to the south over Tweed & Banora Point. Depends on the winds. Mark
