Reviews of Knight Street, Homebush
"Noisy and next to train tracks"
The Crescent along Homebush spans quite a long way. I lived on the end closest to Strathfield. The street is lined with many residential units and the road runs parallel to the train tracks. This is the main reason why it gets really noisy especially when the freight trains come along. However, if you manage to live in one of the units that is located further away from the tracks, the noise will be minimal.
Despite the noise, Homebush is a very pleasant suburb that is lined with trees and parks. Many families who live here are drawn to the schools and the convenience of having a train station. It is also within walking distance to Strathfield station. There are many restaurants, butcher, convenience store, kebabs place and cafes situated along The Crescent and Rochester Street in Homebush. Real estate is not cheap either. You can expect to pay up to $350 per week in rental for a two-bedroom apartment that faces the train tracks.
