Reviews of Lorraine Street, Cheltenham

"A street only in name - actually a cul-de-sac."

After a very long battle with Council, Lorraine Street was closed at its southern end to create a cul-de-sac. This was because the Bunnings at the end of the street had an exit directly opposite Lorraine Street, channelling "through" traffic in to it.

Now it is a great little cul-de-sac, with plenty of pedestrian traffic as locals walk to and from Bunnings. It has a nice atmosphere, looks good, and is within walking distance of the Mentone and Cheltenham shopping centres. The redevelopment of the Nylex factory site, behind Bunnings, may see a great range of shops and cafe's open within a short walk.

Great for

  • Cul-de-sac
  • Walk to Bunnings and other shops
  • Mostly well cared for family homes

Not great for

  • Some houses a little run-down
