"Poor area with cheap housing and an abundance of Housing Commission properties."
An area which at first glance seems all right and live-able enough. The area is infested with School age teens who don't go to School and who have extreme drug problems. Car break ins is a major concern as is theft from private property. The Police are hopelessly understaffed and the Gangs run the area. It is the most severe example of impoverished Australian Ghetto I have ever had the misfortune to experience and it is a tragedy for the few good people who cannot afford to get away from the area.
Great for
- Extremely cheap to live in and around. Lots of open space and close proximity to Werribee River
Not great for
- Infestered with gangs. I have endured threats of being firebombed, killed, stabbed, beaten and had my car smashed up by gangs of teenagers who dont go to School or work on numerous occations.
- Lots of problems with theft
- Extremely violent and rampant drug use in the area
