Melrose Park isn't as diverse as adjoining suburbs such as, say, Eastwood or Epping, but it still has a mix of nationalities. Bear in mind that it is a tiny suburb, with a population of around 2000. Unlike neighbouring suburbs, most dwellings are houses or duplexes - there are no apartment complexes (yet), so Melrose Park has mostly families living here. Here's some data from the 2011 Census to give you some idea of the mix ... 69.9% of people living in Melrose Park were born in Australia. The other top responses for country of birth were England 3.3%, Korea 2.2%, China 1.8%, Hong Kong 1.5%, Malaysia 1.3%. 71% of people speak English as their first language 5.4% Cantonese, 2.6% Korean, 1.9% Italian, 1.6% Armenian, 1.6% Arabic.
