Moving to Perth

Moving from Cairns to Perth, never been to WA before. Would really like some suburb advice. My partner will be FIFO, so an easy commute to the airport would be good but we don't need to be too close. I'd like to be within walking distance of shops, public transport, arts, culture, beach would be nice but not essential. I'm heavily involved with local theatre here and hope to find a good theatre to get involved with in Perth too. I have a 16yo daughter who is hoping to get an apprenticeship, easy commutes for her will be necessary too although we don't know where that will be to yet. We will rent initially, with a budget of about $450pw.
