"A Small Town- really felt at home"
I loved my visit to Macksville, sure there are prettier places in Australia, but Macksville has an old time charm that you don't always find, especially with towns that have revamped to an inch of their life. There is something to be said for old style country charm. I found the people in shops very friendly, the two pubs were loads of fun, even spotted a couple of sportsmen that are from the area! Yes Maccas isn't here.. but that is the good thing about it! If you like friendly country towns, stop by, the milkshakes at the 'Big Jims' are to die for!

"By pass the place"
Well what can i say about Mackville? I live in Macksville from 1987 till 2001 and vist 3 to 4 times a year to see family. Its a tiny town full of rude people. the town is in the nambucca river with the well known macksville bridge that should of been by passed of rebuilt 20 years ago. Dont stop in Mackville just drive north 15 more kms till Nambucca where there is nice people and Maccas and KFC.

I agree. I live in Macksville and have to go to Nambucca 6 days a week to get my Maccas and KFC. On the 7th day, I'm usually in Macksville hospital detoxing
