What suburbs should my daughter look at surrounding Mt Gravatt Campus?

My daughter is coming from North America to school at Mt Gravatt campus of Grifith. She wishes to be close to campus. What district of the city should she look for an apartment in? She will be looking for 2 bedrooms to share with a friend.

There are plenty of buses to Griffith Uni from surrounding suburbs. If she'd like to walk to the campus, then Nathan, Salisbury and possibly Coopers Plains and Macgregor offer reasonable options. There are very few apartments in these suburbs and they are popular with families. They were generally developed post-1950. Greenslopes, Woolloongabba, West End and surrounds are popular with students and are close to the city. They offer good facilities for young people and there are plenty of transport options to the city and to Griffith in case she will not have a car. You can check the public transport options to and from Griffith Uni using the journey planner at http://www.translink.com.au. You can also find share accommodation on the 'Share' section of this website. Good luck!

What amiaow says is true, there are few units available in Nathan (walking distance from Nathan campus of Griffith) and Salisbury and is probably not the best if she is going to Mt Gravatt Camaps, if she is ok with sharing this is probably the cheapest and best option especially with other Uni students, Mt Gravatt campus is on the other side of a major motorway and the busway so the best spot for locality would be between Mount Gravatt and upper Mount Gravatt (search on google maps) there is heaps of student accommodation, close to shops and supermarkets and the busway (which pretty much follows the Pacific Motorway into Brisbane and surrounds andall the way to the Gold Coast in the other direction). As amiaow noted Greenslopes, Woolloongabba, West End and surrounds are popular with students and also good options, and generally only 10-15 mins by bus from Griffith

I live in Salisbury and there is a block of units on Orange Grove Road for student accommodation. Not sure if they have any vacancies though. 😊
