Reviews of Southaven Drive, Helensvale

"Great street close to everything!"

Been living on this street for almost a year now and I just love it here. Road noise is not a problem for me at all maybe because I come from an apartment in Sydney that was in a very central location. But I honestly hardly hear anything with windows closed at night, and never had trouble sleeping or been bothered by the noise. I guess everyone have different levels of sensitivity for noise. It is so convenient here, close to everything with a neatly kept friendly neighbourhood. My neighbour says their family lived on this street for the last twenty plus years too. Lots of yummy mud crabs to catch. Feels like I'm living in the nature but with all handy things close by. Very happy with my decision to live here!

"Good location! Lot of fishes and crabs to catch!"

We actually didn't experience too much of the noise it is not an issue at all, but we understand that would be a different story for the west side residents since it is close to the M1.
Being only minute away from M1 it make driving easier, I used to work in Brisbane city, its only take 45 mins to drive there (an hour on busy traffic), I can also catch the train from Helensvale or Coomera Station which are within 10 mins drive and park, never had any trouble finding a park in those stations.

There are two great schools nearby, which are AB Paterson and Coomera Anglican College.

If you are a fishing person this would be a great place for you, we have caught lot of fishes and crabs (even in winter), the river is great for water skiing and sport! If you have a boat, the good thing is that you wont need anit-foul as often since the water is a lot less satly up this way, but if you have a boat longer then 7m it maybe a pain since it take 50mins to the seaway (6knots restriction all the way for boat over 7m). A big marina berth is only 5 mins away, make boat servicing a piece of cake!

Shopping here is average but it have everything you need, Westfield is only 10 mins away, Wolly at Oxenford is only 5 mins away and there is a great butchery there, Harbourtown and Aust Fair only 20 mins drive.

This estate is nice for family but not party animals, it cost $50 for taxi from Surfers/Broadbeach. Southport, Surfer, Broadbeach and Robina are within 30 mins drive and GC airport about 40mins, Brisbane airport within an hour, very convenience!

Unfortunately we have not become friend of our neighborhood yet (we would love to meet them but life is just too busy at the moment), but the neighborhood are nice peoples I guess people are just keeping to themselves. I did notice there was a house of young people who party a lot but I think they have moved. We do feels peaceful and quiet and we are not looking to move at all.

"Noisy, noisy, noisy...."

North facing land. great aspect, except for the road noise starting every morning at 3:00am. during winter unbearable during summer aceptable if wind is blowing in right direction.
Unfortunately too close to boganville at the back with petty crime becomming a real problem.
Excellent houses built by people thinking that they had found their home. Reality is the turnover is high and this will never see the value increases like the rest of the waterfront properties in the gold coast.

"Nice enough street"

Having lived on Souhaven Dr for 3 years I really know what its like. The neigbours don"t talk to you a few will wave if you have made the effort to say hi but thats about it.
Had a house across the road from us that had been rented to a bunch of very young people, that would for some reason chase myself and my dogs down the road every night, they got some kind of sick kick out of it. You may think that perhaps there is something wrong with me, but reall I am a very quiet person, who has many friends nd really has no idea what their probems were or perhaps still are.
The biggest problem comes from the road noise, it really is very bad. At the end of the day we sold the house at a lose, just to walk away. Now live in Sanstuary Cove much better very quiet and you know your investment is sound.
They also need to build better malls on the northen end of the coast (like Robina). Distance to good schools is ok, if of course you are looking at a private school you will be on a very long waiting list, but the local schools are quiet good.
