Parking is not the problem you make it out to be - if you're prepared to walk a little. Warragul is not a village anymore where you can expect to always park directly outside the very shop you intend to visit. We know we need to park and walk when visiting a shopping centre, but for some strange reason that's unacceptable locally... go figure.

Beerwah

"Find somewhere else to live"

Beerwah is the pits of the sunshine coast. When I lived there I found the shopping choice totally inadequate. Medical, dental and other services poor and the people feral. The real estate is grossly overpriced. Rain, rain and more blooming rain. Toads and soggy gardens. Mozzies everywhere.
Some people are OK but they are the ring ins, not the locals. Too long in one place.
Sorry but if you are moving to the Sunshine coast........try Caloundra. Much better!!!!!!

Great for

  • Train out
  • A pub
  • Some friendly out of towners

Not great for

  • Wet
  • Toads
  • Angry people

By your comments (and your username) you'd probably be much better off in Caloundra. Much more people to fight on a Saturday night! Belle Vista would be right up your street.

Bully, you must have lived in Beerwah 20 years ago because appart from the rain(which is no different to the rest of the coast), your comments are totally in the dark ages.

Mirboo North

"I love Mirboo North...It's like living on top of the world!"

What a great place to live. It's peaceful, people are friendly, the schools are great. Coffee is sensational and the pub serves up a great feed. House prices are reasonable and there's plenty of bush and nature to explore. Of course, if you love a few beers, where else can you find the best brewery in Australia but at your doorstep, the fabulous GRAND RIDGE BREWERY. If you get a chance, pop up and visit our Arts festival as well. We love it and if you visit our great little town, we are sure you will too!

Warragul

"Ok to live here but the shopping and fine dining is terrible"

Warragul is caught between two worlds...the 1950's and the 21st century. The general community wants it to go forward but the council and developers are determined to make Warragul stay where they think it belongs and that is in the hands of a few at the cost of planned and sustainable growth.
The shopping strip is a joke. Twenty five minutes to find a park in a continuous merry go round of cars. Pedestrian crossings that defy imagination; fourteen in a half kilometre stretch.
Poor dining, outrageous prices and a terrible choice in products.
The majority of Warragul shop in Narre Warren for good reason. If you are palanning a shift to West Gippsland for peace and quite, brace yourself if Warragul is where you choose. Head north to Neerim South or stay west in Bunyp/Garfield. Same shopping, same pub meals but closer to Fountain Gate.
Forget Warragul!

Although you are fairly entitled to your opinion, I have lived in Warragul most of my life and find it to be a really nice town. Most of the pedestrian crossings have been removed and the parking is not as exaggerated as you say. Warragul is a beautiful little town and the shopping is not that bad. Nice place to live, suited to almost everrybody except city lovers.

"Nice if you want peace and quiet in the country and access to the city"

Nice place to live, people are friendly. Little or no violence. biggest issue might be bogan element and FWD element combined with jock culture. Nothing unusual for country towns these days. schools good and plenty of choice. Chow shopping is plentiful. abundant supermarkets, restaurants and nightlife is limited.
an excellent place to live. watch out...its growing.

Very peaceful, friendly town - refreshing change from overcrowded, popular Mornington Peninsula.
Losing the bogon element as property values increase and more people make the country change to acreages. Probably too quiet for teenagers but easily accessable to Melbourne by freeway or train. Great for young families, empty nesters and retirees. Quality restaurants and cafes and excellent choice of schools in the surrounding areas. A variety of supermarkets and retail shopping and close to larger shopping precinct in Warragul for cinemas and specilised retail needs. Overall a very nice place to live with beautiful views of Mt Baw Baw and commuting distance to large employment areas and the city for cultural entertainment. Definitely a 4/5 star rating.

My wife and I moved from the city 2 years ago and have never looked back.
The people here are very friendly and family oriented and welcomed us into our street and we have made some great friends here. We go to Melb at least once a fortnight for visiting and a day out. Warragul has some fabulous restaurants and especially nice chinese food. The crime rate is very low and we all look out for each other in an old fashioned way, that you wont find in Melb. Ian Fallin
