Langwarrin

"Its ok, but lots of problems"

Have lived in langwarrin and worked here for a long time, lots of teenagers, graffiti and glass breakages, vandalism, dont feel to safe walking around at night especially friday and saturday nights ( dont go near the pub after dark ) Moderately affordable, but the trade off is the gangs of teenagers drinking, shouting and fighting

Out of all the coments made about langwarrin so far only 2 out of how many? give langwarrin a poor rating. mmm i wonder who might a little more acurate with their reviews 2 people or the vaste array of others. It really is very very simple if you don't like here MOVE. because no one else who lives here wants you living in this great suburb whinging about it and running it down. I have a ute & a 7x5 trailer i will even help you move to say frankston north.

This review must be a joke, right? You're not one of those &^%$#@'s who like to create virus' etc. because you're so negative about everything?

You're certainly not living in Langwarrin with a review like you've written, and whilst you're certainly entitled to your opinion, the reality/facts are nothing like what you've claimed them to be.

I agree with the other comment. Maybe you're taliking about Frankston North?

You're kidding, aren't you? Surely? Nobody could get it that wrong...

wow some negative comments kinda ruined all the great things said about Langwarrin on both sides, if you read the lastest newsletter this week from one of the local schools the original comment might actually have some substance, if you drive past the glass bus stops you will notice broken glass from kids who have thrown beer bottles at it and smashed the bus stop glass, only people living near the pub would be affected by the hoons but there definitely is a teenage problem down the cranbourne frankston rd, graffiti has improved but can still be seen on sign posts, peoples fences, the langwarrin park entry wall, and a few shops, every 2nd weekend you will see the frankston council van pull up to all the affected areas and people on PD jumping out to clean the walls. On the flip side of the original comment to give all areas a low rating only shows a huge grudge on that persons part to Langwarrin because of their experiences, most people would realise this without provoking a response to substantiate that persons claims.
There are many people from all walks of life in Langwarrin from singles, familys, strugglers, and more fortunate, and we all experience different things in our surroundings, therefore everyone is entitled to their opinion whether it is good or bad, if you take it personally you shouldnt.
Langwarrin is a very friendly place, and as per usual as in any group, may it be a classroom group to a suburb or country, just a small amount of people cast a bad image that labels that whole group in general. People are just Human and things aren't all Rosey even in the best of environments, but most of us try to do our best, we go home to ideally enjoy it, luckily most of us do in Langwarrin, for those unfortunate not to, I hope they do one day.

AnitaT is right on the money and made good comment on Langwarrin. Let's face it, I don't think anyone could even name just 1 suburb that doesn't have some graffiti or the occasional drunken goon . 'Lang' is a good place to live, close to schools, shopping centres, freeways and the beach. Best of all, it's still affordable but not for too long. The about to be constructed Frankston bypass will make it a 50 minute trip to Melbourne using Eastlink. Housing values should rise at that time.

I cannot believe some of the comments made here about Langwarrin and the mentality of some of the people who are leaving such comments. Anitat is on the money....having lived in the area for over 20 years, I have seen many changes.

As Langwarrin grows, so do some of the problems, but to the credit of the Frankston (and mind you in hurts to give council any credit) and other authorities, most of the problems are rectified quite quickly and some can't drunken louts being one. They are a part of life and so you will find this in every suburb, city and country. Given all the negatives, Langwarrin is a great place to live and will continue to be for a long time to come.

Comments like those from pablo069, Marclau and trumpet are not helpful, in fact, unnecessary. One can refute someone else views without making gutter comments. helloeverybody's comment is unjust as it makes Langwarrin out to be the 'Bronks' of America. After 20 years, you grow with the suburb and you make adjustments to the changes that occur. Anitat has a handle on this as does JackMoon.

We all have a right to say what we think but before doing so, look at the bigger picture and give a balanced opinion rather than a one-sided one.

I can also be very civil but when comments are unfair, unjustified and plain bashing, then I voice my opinion. perhaps I was a little harse.

But the fact remains, Langwarrin is a great suburb, being an I.T manager and a property developer, I suggest people who do not know a suburb perhaps spend a little money and get a demographic report about Langwarrin. Reports from RP data and the like will uncover that we are predominately a white collar/self employed suburb where average family income is $76,000 and well above the state average. My income like Pablo is well over $200K also.
Furthermore, a lot of the vandalism is from through traffic of loffers passing through Langwarrin.
I agree with Pablo69 on this that having a go at having a ute and trailer is pure stupidity from Helloeverybody part.

What is even more funnier, is that the negative comments made were from those that no longer live here!!!! I go to the pub every fortnight and never had a problem........never seen a problem other then the odd idiot making a fool of himself and then you find out he is not from Langwarrin in the first place.

Hi all, I Would like to make one last comment about the few (very few) of these so called langwarrin residents. If as you say you do and own a home in langwarrin?? Why on earth would you want to run the suburb down? after all there are quite a few people who read these blogs so in affect all you are doing by badmouthing an excellent place to live is dragging down your own? house price. the way i see it is these people don't live here or are extremely unintelligent. May i suggest both....

Regards Pablo.
post script; Any others who wish to verbally run down this great suburb will be shot down in flames because no one should be running down the suburb they live in.

I dont live in Langwarrin but I would still buy as the comments made about the suburb basically can be said about all suburbs anywhere, however it is annoying to find certain people having to butter themselves up with their supposed job and income status, I imagine for that amount of money they wouldn't have time on their hands to waste on a forum which no serious buyer would take notice of anyway. When I was reading some of the comments I seriously thought how weird for people to go off in a tangent just because someone doesnt like where they live, I suggest that Hellotoeveryone invite Pablo and Marcau to stay with him or her for the week but I guess Hello is too busy at work or has better things to do, than irritate the shits out of readers by their repitious rubbish.

I am sure for Chief Pablo of Langwarrin and Hyawotha that this will not be their " final word" as they dont seem to realise that they are the ones who have given this particular thread a bad taste

Regards One of those people who stumbled across this blog. Considering buying in Langwarrin.

PindaraCave

I think that is a bit unfair johnhtv,

I suspect Pablo was simply showing that he has earning capacity and the reason why he has a trailer. I dont' think it was showing off in anyway either.

I recently moved to Pindara and love the area.

Yes, perhaps a few minor issues but nothing as bad as has been mentioned.

I guess people become passionate about their area and that is simply what is coming through in this forum. Your are right in that people to make comments when they dont even live in the area and Marclau hit it spot on with his/her comments about the passing traffic with Langwarrin located in between 2 other suburbs........

However, we have only been here 18 months, we love it and feel totally safe including our young 4 children. Thats why we picked Pindara.

I also dont get why people would run down their own suburb so badly as some have done. I feel they simply dont live here and have become a tad upset that they dont.......:)

Although perhaps a bit harse marclau with your neanderthol lines, I thought they were pretty funny and decided to take on the theme in my forum name..........hope you dont mind....:)

Guys,

I have had to moderate this thread quite heavily. If it cannot be kept civil with honest opinions about streets and suburbs, I will be forced to remove ALL comments.

These threads are not intended to incite anger, rather they are meant for people to learn about places to live. No more personal attacks. Please keep it clean.
