Favourite Japanese food in Melbourne

Kuni's on Little Bourke is one of my favourite... nothing exciting but very reliable quality and service

I'll try it - I have never been there!

Hako on Flinders Lane for sure! Ichi Ni Izakaya on the Esplanade in St Kilda and Matsumoto on Lygon St, Brunswick East is a relaxed favourite.

If u want Japanesses u have to go to Melbourne's CBD

Not necessarily - there's good Japanese in many inner suburbs.

Ocha in Kew is very good... certainly comparable to any Japanese restaurant in the CBD.

Where do you go in the CBD IsabellaN?

I've heard alot about Nobu at Crown, has anybody been?

Actually I'm with JVS on this, has anyone been to Nobu in the city? I have heard mixed reviews.

Wabi Sabi should be number one Brian. Traditional country food and brilliant service. Shame it's so hard to get in. Now it's going to be harder!!!

Misuzu in Albert Park is pretty good for country style food as well. A little pricey though.

For those out south-east, there are two good restaurants - one in Doncaster - Kobe Teppanyaki (great entertainment value!) and Yokohama Teppanyaki in Century City Walk in Glen Waverley
