NBN is definitely not up and running in Fitzroy North, some areas have the cabling running to properties but others don't and most internet providers (TPG) are clueless as to whether the lateral cable is actually running into apartment blocks, their system says its there but you'll only know once you sign up and the technician comes out - huge risk that you'll find yourself paying for internet with no actual connection and huge delays as to when it will be set up. The conversation will go something like this -
ME to TPG "Im paying for internet but have no connection"
TPG to ME "Speak with NBN they haven't done their job and set up the cables properly"
ME to NBN "TPG says you haven't done your job and the cables aren't there"
NBN to ME "we work with a third party and cant give you contact details and don't know when the problem will be fixed. TPG shouldn't have told you you'd have internet or be charging you for a service your not getting, "
Conversation had over and over again - nobodies problem, but TPG happy to take your money and not provide a service or interim solution.
