Hamilton crime?

What about crime, hooligens and drug epidemics. One hears every so often that numerous country towms are considered even worse than the City! Seems i can't get away from low life's where ever i like to live these days. So my questions are; How bad or good is it in Hamilton in that category? How bad or how good are Police even addressing crime there? These are important questions for older people such as myself who are considering moving some where more sustainable and a more pieceful life. Away from all the crap that society offers these days. The other question i have is: What is there on social activities for older people? Anyone?

Thank you.
Yes crime level is disheartening. Retirees now need to be more worried where to move to these days. Too many Addicts and low life's these days and imported ones too. May have to find a Fort some where. Lol

RM5 In Hamilton it really depends where you buy, and all other cities are the same. I would not let the crime rates of Ballarat, Warrnambool or Hamilton scare you off. However, hospitals are a different story. You will need access to decent care and I cannot recommend Hamilton, without an oncology unity. Mount Gambier, Ararat, or perhaps Warrnambool are about the same house prices with better access to major cities.

There is a very good table tennis group for seniors. Sometimes they get around 20 people. Good lawn bowls, and similar activities for keenagers. Crime, well, statistically it is low. Most of the lower level housing is over the far side of the lake, down near the train station, and near Padrina park ( Kenna Avenue. "STATISTICS provided by Victorian Crime Statistics Agency have indicated some worrying signs for the district with a 45 per cent rise in crime over the last two years" ( 2017). Similar to Ballarat there is a huge unemployment belt from Geelong to Ballarat to Hamilton and Portland. Crime is on the way up.
