"Beautiful Part of Australia"
Picturesque gateway to the Coorong. Some fantastic views of Lake Albert, the town is positioned right on the lakefront. Great place to birdwatch. Still retains the quirks and charms of a small town despite being a good tourist drawcard in the summer months. Always worth a visit and a safe and pleasant place to live.

Meningie
"based on the Murray River just out of Tailem Bend"
Used a lot for people travelling to catch the ferry over the river so they can head to the mouth of the murray river

"Popular town as its on Lake Alexandrina, which is where the Murray River flows into"

"A lot of appeal but suffering with the low lake levels"
There are some great shops, and playgrounds here. The only time I have visited has been in the last 12 months and the water level on the lake was well down and it was blowing a gale. There was plenty for young kids to do and you could see the appeal of the area but with a low water level it was clear that it wasn't the spot for me.
Well out of the city in a nice spot this area has a lot of potential but it’s a spot for particular people.
Probably more for retirees looking for a quiet spot to relax.
Murray Bridge isn't far away to get those things you can't get locally.

Meningie
"A small country town by Lake Albert"
Meningie is a small country town situated 150 kilometres from Adelaide. Located on Lake Albert, Meningie has a population of around 1,500 which tends to swell with an influx of tourists in the summertime.
Meningie is predominantly a farming town. The large main street has a number of shops and basic facilities.
The region is also a fishing region, situated close to the Coorong which has suffered some serious challenges in recent years due to the low water levels of the River Murray.
Only 50 kilometres from Murray Bridge, locals tend to head here for all of their essential shopping and other services.
